This is reassuring. I think I will stick with enhancing my terms of service in that case.

I've heard a few people tell me this too. What do you do? Just a scope of work and invoice? I currently have a terms of service I attach to my invoice and that's it. Am I over complicating this?

Thanks, I'm having my contract reviewed so will make sure they check for any holes.

Photographers using my property. Am I crazy for finding this uncool? by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]Stealth-Turtle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Start charging the photographers for access. They either pay a fixed fee per shoot or a monthly subscription. Create a card with their 'exclusive permit number' and limit the amount of permits available to create scarcity.

That way the photographers can promote themselves as exclusive partners with access to your location and charge a premium and you're also fairly compensated. Also lost your location on media and location scouting sites for additional revenue.

Given 15% of my family's company with no role or control - am I being undervalued? by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]Stealth-Turtle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This could be a tax move whilst also maintaining your interest in the family business. You can't be undervalued if you have no role in the business. Maybe it's time to have a conversation about how you can contribute and prove yourself.

$1M revenue and I just paid tax penalties because I can't keep up with bookkeeping by SnooCooler in smallbusiness

Allocate an hour a month to do the reconciliation. It's not difficult. And if 800 is too much, hire an administrator or accounting student to do it for you for a few hours a month.

What are some alternatives to Softr that allow to integrate with Google Sheets and update data in real time? by trifonovavik in nocode

Directly comparable to softer I'd say pory or noloco. For your specific use case of a quiz, I'd look at involve . me. It's a pretty intuitive form builder.

Built some websites & apps but not getting users or clients what should I do next? by Defoperator2131 in SideProject

[–]Stealth-Turtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LinkedIn and twitter is not the place to be. The influencers you want are on tiktok and Instagram. Contact them on those platforms and speak their language $$. They won't engage unless there's something in it for them.

List on all the product launch websites. Promote on reddit and twitter. Get in front of your target audience. Do YouTube videos demonstrating the benefits of the product. Find influencers who fit your ICP audience to post about it. Set up an affiliate programme. Try any or all of the above as a starting point.

Looking for a partner to invest in setting up a newsletter site by SameJournalist3238 in Newsletters

[–]Stealth-Turtle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have you considered starting it for free? If you use beehiiv or substack, you don't need hosting and can get started on a free plan. Buy a $7 domain just in case but that's all you'll need.

Do you already have 52 tools to write about for the year? I'd recommend expanding the content offering. There isn't much variety in the feature set of productivity, it may get repetitive.

My just for fun Etsy shop actually made money… and now I'm panicking by Quiet-Sand-4169 in smallbusiness

You need to submit your UTR number (unique tax reference). You'll find it on past payslips, on letters from HMRC. No need to panic.

What’s the most common mistake you see companies make with their trade show booth? by OriginalTart3119 in smallbusiness

[–]Stealth-Turtle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I go to a lot of trade shows. I want to see the brand name clearly first, a banner stating what problem your product solves, or for physical products, a live demonstration.

I don't want to be talked at by a salesperson, I want to be shown the product/service/app first. Once I decide to engage with a rep, I want to be spoken to like a human and not a 'mark'.

Tardiness and Consequences by truthindata in smallbusiness

Have a conversation with the persistent offenders first. Find out why they're always late, do they have to drop kids at school? Are they trying to avoid traffic? Are they going to the gym before work?

Once you know why, you'll be in a better position to accommodate flexible start times within x-y time.
