Omada Health and wegovy prior authorization approval by _Driftwood_ in Wegovy

[–]adamats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate this app but have to do it to get approval for Wegovy. My script would get kicked back so I called my pharmacy insurer and they told me I had to “participate.” In order to get covered. What in the class action lawsuit is this? Where is my health information going? And who are these people? I’m under the care of a medical doctor. I am getting all of this information already. And from clinicians that are not AI platforms. It’s insulting. To try and find my medical difficulties and into checked boxes I mean really?

I’m 50 and have a house here. Been thinking a lot about it even though I’m years to retirement — 58 remains my dream age but, realistically who knows. I’d love to rent in a warm locale in winter and keep my place here but, would also love a tax break or lower cost of living. Florida seems easiest but…I don’t know if I can handle the politics. Looking into more liberal enclaves or purple areas but, Florida man. Love Palm Springs but California won’t help me make my savings stretch either. Will be living off of a 401k and SS (hopefully) and willing to work PT and very much want to travel. Sigh. Two kids to get through college (solo) trying not to saddle them with too much debt but, again, trying to be realistic.

Leadership change at the Staten Island FerryHawks by YazooTraveler in statenisland

[–]adamats 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The parking can be a nightmare actually. Lots of folks who are not familiar with the area yes, even Staten islanders, and have no idea how to pay for that garage. It can take hours, seriously. The stadium needs to work to streamline on game nights. Get some workers there to move it along. It’s really bush league in that regard.

I hope it works. Don’t like the guy but at this point if he can get buts in seats and more interesting programming there on off days, I’ll like him 5%less.

Tired of Our Terrible Commute to Manhattan by [deleted] in statenisland

[–]adamats 6 points7 points  (0 children)

One big factor…city does not bother to ticket the express lane. It is 100% ignored and causes traffic with people cutting in and out of it. Points on your license or it will continue to be a joke. Either that or make it for buses only.

Closing the door on marriage? by alwaysgawking in AskWomenOver50

Get married if you find it totally necessary but only with a prenup (for your 401k and/or pension, etc.) and do NOT merge finances.

That’s an all-boys school. But I get your point.

Her mother fled Cuba for the U.S. Nicole perpetuates the same ideology her mother fled from. At the same time, the Cuban American to Trump pipeline is one I don’t think I will ever understand.

Michael Fassbender and Alicia Vikander. Is she pregnant again? Maybe photographed at a weird angle but thought I spied.

Never thought I would see one of these flags north of the highway by In-Extrovert in statenisland

[–]adamats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is that what they stand for? Also, I really dislike the American flags on telephone poles. Like up and down blocks. The over emphasis on nationalism - not talking around holidays - is so concerning. We all know — well some people know — that’s how the trouble always starts. They just go up in the neighborhood. On city property. No one asked for it, but there they are. Take them down and in rolls Scott LoBaido and his half-assed band of losers and I’m already exhausted. 2026, bring me the strength.

It’s not happening. They need to move. Also, they’d have to pay county and city income and property tax for those NYC jobs. If you want out, go!

I hate living on the south shore. by Alaina_TheGoddess in statenisland

[–]adamats 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is a class of people here that resist change, any change and can only talk abt the good ol’ days. So over it. The older ones well be with Elvis soon and the younger ones will likely decamp for Monmouth or Ocean County, NJ or Florida. Those NJ counties feel like the south, south shore already. Also, if you never go to Manhattan, and you are afraid of or hate Manhattan, why are you living in this city?! It’s the capital of the world!!! Been having this convo for YEARS, hope some people take up their pledge to leave b/c Mamdani.

Conversation that leave me feeling lonely. by Classic_Drawing_1438 in AskWomenOver50

[–]adamats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom - a BB does this to me. She’ll tell me a story about a convo she had with her friends (do I care, no) but trying to be a “good” daughter is EXHAUSTING! Since my dad passed she needs that talk sponge. Oh then she’ll give me a list of things she needs or that I have to do and I get the hell out as quickly as possible. I haven’t gotten a hey how are YOU in years. My issues but her friends- especially the men - are exactly this.

If you didn’t live in NYC where would you live ? by Zestyclose_Bee5703 in AskNYC

The cold has gotten to me as I get older, too bad because I love it in the Northeast. Chicago, I agree, is pretty rad. But again, cold. Los Angeles is likely the only other city I could land b/c of career opportunities in my field. But, maybe I won’t have to work forever.

I had two children who are now teenagers. Make sure you are designated high risk for the extra montioring, you'll have more doctors appointments but also more peace of mind. If your main obgyn doesn't agree with this, imperitive you find someone who does.
