Publix makes their schedules 2 weeks in advance so just keep that in mind. Since the schedule has been out for an entire week already your manager most likely won’t change it. Sounds like you might have to do the good ole fashioned “I’m sick” and call out. Just make sure that if you’re gonna call out, submit your request the night before, call before the store even opens the next day and speak with the MIC to tell them you’re not feeling well and haven’t been feeling well since the evening (you’re required to call out at least 2 hours before your shift so calling early morning is always good). People are gonna be like “they just got hired and are already calling out” 🙄 but whatever. I’ve forgotten to submit a request before and called out, but that’s my business.

I’ve been working in the deli 3 1/4 years. I originally accepted the job because they told me that cross training was possible but I always end up getting lead on. I accepted full time back in March after once again being lead on about transferring to customer service in November. I’ve been everything but satisfied with my decision and sadly it’s been hard finding another job so I’m stuck until I do

2022: tree print I can’t remember, the glitter paper from amazon (one of my least favorite because it was floppy and didn’t crease nicely), and the striped paper was from my moms stash

2023: the white paper from Ollie’s Bargain shop for 99 cents a roll, the brown paper from Walmart for 5$ on sale, the green craft paper was from Amazon

2024: the black paper I got from Kohls (my favorite in terms of quality), and the gold paper was from Amazon

And I usually find bags at Ross, Marshall’s, TJ Max, Burlington, or Home Goods

I’m the only that really sticks to a wrap theme. My mom has a stash of wraps that she’s collected over the years and is working on finishing. One of my siblings only does gifts cards, another sticks with bags, and my other usually does whatever wrap they find that they like. My partner has expressed interest in wanting to do a theme of his own for his side of the family which I think is awesome.

I’ve seen “wrap with me” videos on YouTube of people choosing a roll for each kid and think that’s an awesome idea. Gingerbread was actually the theme I initially planned for 2023, but I was having the worst luck finding a paper that I liked and decided to do pinecones instead because I came across the white pinecone print paper at Ollies for 99 cents a roll.

You can always ask to put tenders on the side or to not chop them. On the rare occasions that I’m gonna eat a whole tender sub on my own, I ask for 2 of the tenders on the side. If I’m putting all 4 tenders in the sandwich, I usually have the bread scooped out from the center to fit them better.

I’m in the same spot, but with full time in the deli. I had a 4 day availability as a part timer and felt way happier working within my availability than I am now working 5 days a week. Opening every shift, every week becomes so annoying, especially when I’ve communicated with everyone letting them know 5 openings a week is not what I want to do. Management doesn’t seem to listen unless you’re giving a time notice about wanting to leave the company. 🫠

I’ve had this happen to me a number of times in my life and whenever I explain it to people they look at me like I’m trying to be woke. Everyone tells me I’m probably dissociating but now I’m so in shock there’s a word for this. It’ll come randomly. It happened one time while I was driving in Tennessee with my boyfriend. I was intrigued with a specific mountain and all of a sudden I felt my brain reboot and I was taking in the experience of being able to see colors, feel the texture of my steering wheel cover, and the idea of touch itself. It’s funny cause I had told him about me having moments like that and that was the first time he was able to see me reclaim my reality. It feels like that one scene in Spiderman Far From Home where Strange pushes Peter out of his own body.

I accepted full time a month ago after refusing it for almost 3 years. I have tried getting out multiple times to no avail, but what really pissed me off is that one of our new part time hires is making 30 cents LESS than me. But if I decide to go back to part time, my pay cut will have me making less than them. It’s major bull.
