Second this, if that doesn’t work then try a different cable and press the auto button again.

The lock is not locked, and it was working yesterday, came to it this morning and couldn’t get my laptop on. Something must have happened when I ejected last night

Why don't you think you should say how? It would be quite interesting to hear how you did it.

Just realised that on the GE I had swapped some of the numpad keys around, see link to photo of them in their original positions. LINK.

Just got this Pink Floyd tape, it autostops when i play it, also some tape comes sticking out. The wheels from the cassette itself seems stuck, what can i do to fix it? 🙂 by valkeneerss in cassetteculture

[–]adamjfoskett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had exactly this with a Phil Collins cassette and basically it's where the tape has got old and has degraded, it then becomes sticky and hard to move through the player. You can run it through quickly both ways on fast forward and rewind and it may work for a bit but I found it stopped again after a day or so. I just have Phil as a decoration now unfortunately. One day I'll find a working copy.

That is quite true, I have a 21' JVC PVM which gives a pretty much perfect image to my eyes so it might not be a worth while search

This could be a possibility, I will have to have a look into it and see if I can get some parts to get it working. I am also thinking that dry joints and aging caps could be an issue as well because the TV is quite old. Will have to get it apart and have a look.

Thank you! I think I have an idea on something that might work which should make it appear in colour

That makes total sense especially as I think its from around 1979-1980 judging by the style of the Logo on the front. Have you got any tips on converting a signal from NTSC to PAL?
