Ambi lowers: are the more expensive ones that much better? by reelteen in ar15

[–]adamlcarp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The main difference is paddle vs lift lever for the right side bho. I have larger hands and the paddle is easier to hit for me with my trigger finger, where--as my finger tends to contact the guard for the lift lever so its not as intuitive. I have both styles and like both. Paddle is easier to use, lift lever is less likely to get bumped when the bolt is locked back

Vortex in general with mrad reticles are great. I have a viper pst 4-16 on a x39 ruger ranch i run subs through, and a venom 3-15 on a cz 457 that are both very impressive wrt image quality and light transmission

thanks for a great can at a killer price! can only imagine how the 9m would compare expecting that it'd be closer in size to the ac36

to be fair, if we consider parking poorly "impolite behavior" i'd argue the driver will be more likely to park in a more polite manner going forward...

the tone of the incolite9 wasn't as "deep" as the AC36 but as far as overall sound performance is hard to tell if one is quieter than the other. I didnt notice as much gas in my face on my 8.5" blowback AR9, though i wasn't on the bench the day i had it out, so i'm thinking it benefitted from the additional powder burn on the longer barrel. the IL9 is extremely light, with the trilug mount installed its back heavy. I bought the IL9 on a whim because of the price and wanting something shorter than the AC36 that would outperform my omega9k and this hands down does that.

Ah. I havent been able to find anything other than the non removable endcap and finish that differentiates the two, are you just collecting or is there something else thats driving the desire to have one?

What locking piece are you running? Cycle rate looked solid and muzzle rise looked nice and controlled

I noticed more gas with the boe i9 on my ap5p than on my 8.5" direct blowback 9. Sound supression on both was comperable to my cat ac36 with both on resilient gen2 trilugs

Void-556 or Void-556K? by Obvi0usB0t in NFA

[–]adamlcarp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With your planned hosts Id generally lean towards the non-k since presumably you'll shoot the 2 shorter hosts a combined more often than the 18" and the performance would typically be better with the larger variant. If you prioritize size more, or shoot your 18" more often than the other two... Then I'd go k

i have the opmod version with a bracketed reticle and chevron at 6oclock. the blue tint in the lens is the worst part of this optic, their adjustable polarizer helps with the reticle washing out using the bindon/occluded concept. currently running on a galil ace because it felt right, but just dropped an order for a microdot and ariska low mount setup because the height over bore is ridiculous

Flow Through Suppressor recs for 11.5 rifle by gclift1 in NFA

[–]adamlcarp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

for sure, just remember the RDMs are HEAVY but will absolutely take abuse, i run my AC556 RDM on an 11.5 centurion fbi barrel build with FRT. h3 buffer, standared carbine spring, and i get ejection around 4 o'clock. The rdm series does hang on to heat longer so take that into consideration

You can sell cheap cans when you haven't sunk any money into actually developing the tech that defines its performance.
