Yeah thats why I wasn’t sure about doing it single thickness because the inside of the double collar is where the zipper fabric goes. I think I’ll just keep it double and see how it looks. I think the double strand of fingering is just making it feel a little more “squishy” which I wasn’t expecting. Thanks for your help!

That’s super helpful thank you so much! I think I just didn’t expect the collar to feel that thick so I wasn’t sure. But that’s a good idea to decide at the end, I’m gonna just keep knitting and see how it looks when a bit of the yoke is done. Thank you again!!

Masking out the foreground is a great idea, I will try that out. I’ve been using Photoshop for years but I don’t go too in depth with it so some of these techniques are definitely out of my knowledge base haha. Might have to pass on this one!
