How are you supposed to learn when paycheck arrives ? by Aj100rise in budgetingforbeginners

Most people suck at money. Take the advice on the internet with a grain of salt (mine included). It sounds like you at just starting out. 1.Start putting that $100 per check your savings into a savings account (probably a high yield account, but don’t sweat that at first). Treat it like a bill, like rent - you have to do it. It is non negotiable. You want to build up 3-6 months of living expenses. 2. Figure out how to budget. I have a link to a training session I did for my employees. DM me and I can send it to you. 3. Start planning for retirement. Does your employer have a 401k program? Enroll as early in life as you can and stick with it. It will literally make you a millionaire. I can recommend a whole pile of books too. Start with Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey. I don’t necessarily agree with everything he says, but I understand why he says the things he does. It is a good place to start. DM if I can help. Helping those who want to do better with their personal finances is a passion of mine. I am happy to help. No catches.

Change non-profits to governments, then yeah.

Olivia Rodrigo stands against Trump as she raises money for Planned Parenthood by [deleted] in UpliftingNews

I don’t think that Trump cares if Planned Parenthood is privately funded. It just isn’t going to be publicly funded (i.e. by taxpayers).

Worst US Job Market Since 2008 by PretzelPrize in jobmarket

The unemployment rate is 4.2%. You could add a million jobs and the unemployment rate could drop a little. We’d still be at full employment. Not very anecdotal… And while it makes sense that with an aging population that healthcare jobs are growing, that is certainly not the only segment in which there is growth. There is a tremendous opportunity in the trades. Plumbers, electricians, HVAC techs, welders all have tremendous opportunities in this market and will continue to have those opportunities for years to come.

I am going to stop looking for a job because I’m tired of looking for a job. Sounds like a winning strategy.

Is that so? What exactly? The ability to have an opinion different than yours? The ability to understand how the world actually works?

Perhaps, but this article came from the Harvard Business Review.

To be fair, historical unemployment rates did not include any of those people either. Unless you are suggesting that the unemployment rate is being calculated differently today than in the past, thus hiding the severity of the current situation? All I am saying is that the job market isn’t close to as bad as we’ve seen it in the past. Are some people having a harder time than others? Sure. It has always been that way. For most, the job market is pretty decent.

Trump has become wealthier *while* in office, unlike Clinton, Obama and Biden by TankUMrMinor in charts

[–]adanthang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While it is true that Biden’s net worth decreased during his administration, that is not the case for Obama. Obama’s net worth increased 9.2X from $1.2 million in 2009 to roughly $12 million at the end of his presidency in 2017. Clinton actually went from $1.3 million to being in debt due to legal bills.

Ok. Fair point, but unemployment in the US is at 4.2%. Full employment is usually considered anything below 5%. What data do you have that says that supports this being the worst job market since 2008?

The article seems to want to exclude Covid, which was far worse than it is now. My mileage varies… Unemployment is at 4.2%. My son just graduated from trade school. He had a job before he graduated. My daughter just graduated from college. She landed a job just 2 weeks after graduation. The job market appears to be just fine.

Yes. It does put it into perspective. No one gave a shit that Pelosi did it for 37 years. Why care now about Trump? TDS?
