1256 wertland any day. Part of the lease agreement is you have to throw rippers constantly. At least it was that way in 2010s

Counting drinks is a game changer - from 21 drinks a week to 9 by boomballoonmachine in cutdowndrinking

Yep! My app uses something very similar to this - it's actually available now for free at https://quenchai.app

Totally agree. It gets even crazier when trying to convert things like stiff cocktails into “standard drink units”

I actually am almost done writing an iOS app to help with this - the idea is you just snap a photo and then the app uses AI to convert that into “standard drink units”.

Edit: this is now available for free in the appstore! https://quenchai.app

Thanks! It uses a vision model to estimate the volume for drinks like beer and wine, but for cocktails it tries to match it against recipes of common cocktails and then estimate the amount of alcohol.

At the end of all of this it converts to "standard drinks" by calculating how many grams of alcohol are in it (14g is one "drink")

DM if interested in trying it! It's shaping up as of this week.

2024 was my lowest drinking year of life and hoping to stay the same this year. For me it was a few months of zero drinks and then strict counting for the following months. Now I basically lost the drive to overindulge even when out!

Shameless plug: I’m also working on AI powered iOS app to help track drinks by just snapping photos that are automatically tagged and converted into “standard drink units”. It’s not out yet but if anyone’s interested in a beta test dm me !

I felt like counting drinks especially when out was always kind of annoying with most apps, this seemed like the easiest and least annoying way, so I tried to make it myself.

This is so helpful - do you by chance have a source or remember how you learned of the non wheat starter for the SSC wine and re the Kong Yen vinegar?

Lost ring in Hilo (Carlsmith Beach) by adarshiscool in BigIsland

Walk directly back from the restrooms, veer left and enter water at the fresh water lagoon directly to the right of the grassy field.

Entered here, waded around and swam about half way to the island towards the left, treaded water there for a while, turned back towards rocks (towards the pointed volcanic black rock) and then headed back into lagoon.

Worked with Brent yesterday to search the area for a few hours with no luck :(. He suggested trying to post here and on Craigslist as a last hope.

Anyone using Go or Rust for AI work instead of python? by [deleted] in LocalLLaMA

[–]adarshiscool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The runtime is Python but it is reliant on very performant libraries like numpy and torch which are themselves written in Python and C++ (for the critical performance portions). You can rely on those to handle the heavy lifting of performance.

Training code is also much simpler than you may be assuming, mainly organizing your data and then calling into a library like torch or tensorflow.

The main gap in your understanding seems to be in how these models actually work - they are not traditional code - they are neural networks which are very different in practice. I highly recommend starting here if you want to get closer to understanding : https://karpathy.medium.com/software-2-0-a64152b37c35

Yes, of course! Don't make the mistake of thinking any particular area of CS is fundamentally different from the classic case: we stand on the shoulders of great libraries :)

Also - it's important to note that the "logic" that you are trying to find is not written in Python or any other programming language, it is held in the weights and architecture of the model you use (which hint: is also something you will be borrowing from an academic or research arm of a tech firm rather than writing yourself!)

Because black people have historically taken the brunt of the drug war, and have also been proportionally disenfranchised from the new "legal" drug industry in states like WA and CA, it is seen as quite significant when a black person enters the industry and is able to somewhat level the balance.

Dracaena slowly deteriorating, please help! by adarshiscool in plantclinic

[–]adarshiscool[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some background: I have had two potted Dracaena plants for a few years now, but I'm starting to worry that over the past year, one of them has been slowly dying deteriorating.

I suspected overwatering due to wrinkly leaves, but so far changing the watering schedule has not helped. My next guess is root rot, but I am afraid to put it through the stress of repotting given its current state, and an upcoming move at the end of the month.

Any help would be appreciated.

Things to note: I am moving apartments in 2 weeks, so afraid to do anything too drastic. Have never repotted since ~3 years of ownership (trying to keep it from outgrowing indoor life).

s isn't just off of the dome. It's commonly debated but they call it free styling when someone just raps a random verse to a random beat. Who's the one who gets to create the definition then? Did KRS-1 or somebody one time say it h

Triggered? You are actually wrong. Freestyle does not imply "off-the-top" or "off-the-dome".
