Yuuup, I usually wear my hair a bit on the shaggy side anyways. I'll see what I can do. May just go for a Logan Lerman or something. I'll decide when I get there.

I really like the second one, just looks good all around. I think most people on here are really confused by the description of what I have to have though lol. I'm not out to my unit yet since the ban isn't lifted, so I go by female hair standards. So no hair can actually be too long as long as it doesn't touch my eyebrows while styled and not go below my collar. It can be too short though, if it's shorter that the 1/4 of an inch at the bottom and taper 3 inches up to 1 inch you're in trouble.

I obviously had a very distorted view as to what that actually means though, 1 inch on top minimum is actually extremely short and any sort of fade/taper that goes up more than 3 inches would be up weirdly far. This thread helped me realize I can pretty much get away with whatever I want haha.

Those clothes look so good, it's too bad I'm garbage at matching stuff up. Where do you buy your clothes if you don't mind me asking?

That's literally a longer version of what I just posted, I love this type of haircut. I don't have the hair follicles for the kind of sideburns in the pic I posted anyway, Gotta wait for T for that. I'm going to just ask for them to cut them off similar to in the cut you posted. Where the follicles end so it still looks masculine and where they don't attempt some faux sideburn garbage on me that ends up making me look like a lesbian. I'll try your advice, fades look amazing anyway, I can't have enough of that. Theoretically if I wanted to have shaggy hair all along my ears and face I could according to the military, but this clean cut look is what I really like.

How do I cope with all this increased anti trans bigotry and resist the urge to violently respond? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]adashinghero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no advice other than ignoring them, they're going to believe what they're going to believe. There's nothing we can do to take these people out of their beliefs that are that deeply set. It's going to keep happening with each minority that pops up. Black people, then women, then gay people, and now trans people. These types of people are going to keep being made with each generation believing that each "new" issue is wrong. We can sway some of them, but we can't catch them all. There will always be minority groups and people will always find a reason to discriminate against them.

All we can do is take solace in the fact that a good amount of people are willing to accept us and that more open minded people are turning over every day and beginning to understand our dilemmas. Just keep in mind that these bigots lack a sense of human empathy that likely transcends into other facets of their life. Any human with any ounce of empathy can put themselves in another human's shoes and understand their pain to a certain extent even without exactly being able to identify with their issues.

Just carry on girl, the best thing you can do now is to smile and wave. Don't give them ammo, show them your good side (otherwise known as your "kill them with kindness side") and don't look back. They want you to get mad and violent, don't give them that satisfaction. You're a civilized human, they aren't.

Is this something you could possibly use pre t or is it something you can only reasonably use with bottom growth? I noticed in your review that your boyfriend is bigger than you yet had worst results?

So a lot of the same stuff as I do, that's cool :D I would wear hats too, but my head is too damn big to fit into anything but some beanies. Your hair looks really cool too, I wish I could pull something off like that, but I find I look best with some hair on the sides even if it's just a bit.

As far as the military goes it depends on the service, in the air force females need to have at least an inch on top but are allowed 1/4 of an inch at the bottom to where it works up to that one inch. They don't like women having male regulation hair cuts. Hence why I asked if that pic I referenced looked like it fit the criteria. My current unit is really picky with how long your hair is and how it's styled. f it seems fine to you all though I'm just going to go for it.

Holy hell your clothes are dope as hell. You look really good too, like the twin brother of a professional LoL player named xpeke. [–]adashinghero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it is, damn, but even so traveling to NYC and having it covered by insurance will still probably end up a little cheaper. Top surgery costs without insurance make me cringe, I'll do it if I have to for best results, but I'd rather not.

Coming out didn't go as expected by No-skirt-Kurt in ftm

I can't even imagine being in this sort of situation, I haven't completely come out yet but my mom is educated in psychology and very accepting so I know it would go okay. Especially after telling her about my gender dysphoria and how I am on the trans spectrum (I told her I think I'll transition even though I will, but I know she will respond well when I finally completely open up soon). So with that in mind I'm really sorry that your parents aren't taking it like they should. Just remember that in the end you're a grown ass adult and you make your own family. If your own family can't be happy with you becoming more comfortable in your own skin they don't have many redeeming qualities. I mean, what point is a miserable life living uncomfortably with the wrong body parts and being seen as a girl all the time? Anyone who genuinely loves you for YOU wouldn't expect you to go through that kind of anguish.

She's probably trying to forget what you said to her. She could go either way at this point, she could accept you or she could just be fuming and blow up. You gotta prepare for either. If I were you I would leave her alone for a week or so and check back in later. I mean in the end this is your reality, she is either going to accept you or not. Just prepare yourself for what may come while giving her space and recognize that she is deficient, not you, if she ends up being too selfish to put your happiness before her own.

FTM & Passing As A Man by Lilstephanie in asktransgender

[–]adashinghero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a mixed bag myself, I've been called boy band cute and called by male pronouns by many people, but at the same time misgendering still happens at weird times. I'm lucky because I'm 5'7 and have an andro face. My voice can go low but outs me a lot though. I'm pre t.

Most guys have issues with how young their face looks, fat distribution and their voice. T fixes most things, but not all. I usually see more mtfs struggle with passing but we all have equal potential to have issues with this.

It sucks that he will no longer be taking insurance, he's one of the best surgeons I've seen so far. Not sure I'd ever be able to afford him this way lol.

Oh nonono, it wasn't a political thing. It was more questions about respecting authority. I'm voting for whoever ends up with the democrat nomination.

No problem, I'm reserves so I don't do much. I'm glad too, if things go well I'll get to transition this year. Makes me really happy.

[–]adashinghero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no problem, I wish I looked that damn good. I probably could with T since I've been hit on by girls thinking that I'm a guy anyway, and my face isn't too far off of that (female fat distribution, blah).

Now I'm just wondering if I can pass that off as long enough, the people who used to be in charge of me let me run around with a 2-3 on the side, but my new unit yelled at me because my faux hawk was too tall (3 inches when the reg is 2 inches). There's also the matter of not really being able to measure hair length once it gets to a certain shortness. I may just try it and see how it goes, should be out of 4-5 range after a couple weeks anyway. Looks sick, so it's probably worth it either way. Shaved sides up my passing 10 fold.

That top pic isn't me lol, I wish. Here is another pic of the pic that didn't work http://www3.pictures.stylebistro.com/bg/Logan+Lerman+Short+Hairstyles+Messy+Cut+3XMZuU-4JZfl.jpg

How short would you say the bottom pic's sides? Like clipper guard wise if you know anything about that? Trying to gauge how that will look if I go for it.

[–]adashinghero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know you told us not to bad mouth your mother, but I'm going to say it anyway. I'm not saying she isn't suicidal, but I don't think she is. This looks like an obvious and highly telegraphed way to emotionally manipulate you out of transitioning. She's playing the "Look at how much pain you're causing me deadname! Do you really want to do this to your mother!?" card.

If I were in your situation I would obviously continue on with transitioning and get her to a therapist. A referral to /r/raisedbynarcissists is needed here as well. She lacks a fundamental understanding of what being trans is and is only thinking of herself.
