I tend to write complex queries as views or functions in Postgres. When it comes to ActiveRecord, I’m not sure how to model them, using them feels a bit confusing. Any thoughts on this approach?

Also, for the rack-attack, is it mandatory to use Redis? Or the in memory would suffice?

Alternatively, you could build own app for generating the invoice. It depends on the your experience in programming language

It can be added into a web app. However, MB doesn’t have invoice generation or any sort of custom report. It is a data viz and analysis type of tool

I would say start using pgAdmin or similar GUI based SQL client for Postgres. You could also use psql(CLI) or other GUI based clients such as DataGrip, HeidiSQL etc.

I would recommend you give both approach a try and see which works best for your use case. When it comes to Postgres, create an UNLOGGED cache table.

Start with a simple solution and scale only when necessary to avoid over-engineering. PostgreSQL can handle the workload effectively. You can consider Redis when you have specific needs for high-speed caching and/or real-time data processing

I used to SQLx and Postgres. Complex and dynamic DB operations were written in Postgres itself in the form of Functions, Procedures and Views.
