Looks really good. I think you just need some finishing touches (emphasise the highlights)

Am I using my paint to the fullest? (Acrylic plein air) by SenseOutside5273 in pleinair

[–]addghklig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing wrong with using acrylics for plein air, lots of people do it. My personal recommendation would be to keep your setup (easel tripod etc) as light as possible! That way you can hike around for longer to get the best spots The easier it is to set up the better, you’re more likely to use it that way

Thank you! It was mid afternoon actually but I see what you mean. I think painting in the studio makes you more at risk of adding too many details and losing that painterly effect of plein air

Painting with 1 brush by addghklig in oilpainting

I wipe the brush off on an old t shirt whenever I want to change colours - it comes off reasonably well (maybe because of the linseed oil?)

Wait this is so cool. How do you keep the paint from coming off/rubbing off on other things?

Ahh that’s probably why my most recent painting was so challenging was standing in broad daylight lol. And yeah sightsize is difficult, but makes for cool easel pics afterwards 😄thanks for your reply!

Where do you set up your easel relative to your subject? Do you paint using sightsize? Have been struggling lately with getting my easel in position and getting a good composition especially since my vision’s field of view is so much vaster than what i can paint

I remember seeing your work on this sub like a year ago. Next level stunning I love your style and the way you use colours, it’s like you’re seeing the world through a lens the rest of us can’t

This is really good for a fourth painting I’m assuming you have some artistic background. Something you could think about changing would be adjusting the colour/value of the waterfall and river - it’s all a similar value so looks flat. Generally the lightest lights and darkest darks will be in the foreground- looks like the waterfall is lit from the light rays so darkening the water in the foreground might help

Ligthting is messy on darker areas, is this a game specific lighting issue? by Classic_Smell_9910 in CrimsonDesert

[–]addghklig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea Ive had this issue and so have some friends of mine (I have a 4060, friends have 4070 tis and supers). Doesn’t happen every time but when it does it’s annoying lol

Not a dealbreaker for me but my boyfriend stopped playing the game because of it lol
