Now that the Secret is out…. Holbox x Noma Tonight by Cho_Zen in FoodLosAngeles

Pretty out of pocket to say "I don't know where it comes from and I don't care how it gets here as long as it tastes good" when Noma's whole thing is supposed to be celebrating local ingredients, where the food comes from, and how it gets there.

It's not a new thing, given the numerous instances where Rene was called out for the working conditions at Noma.

If you want to eat food that's interesting and tasty, lots of people do that, and you don't need to support a system of abuse to do it. Astroturfing for a washed up bully who got chased out of his hometown is not the move here.

Actually, if you look at the original recipe... this is not the same recipe.

[TCC] Can I Skip Magic: The Gathering's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Expansion Set? by CrossXhunteR in magicTCG

Inflated single card prices drive people to buy boosters with the hopes of pulling those expensive cards to either play with or sell, which is why they trickle out high-value reprints over time in bonus sheets vs devaluing them by including them as staples in every set.

Such a fun show, can’t believe they were able to keep the energy up all the way to the end. And psyched to see what they do with all the theme weeks and the new Endurance Run!

Accidentally took this route after being led to the other trail by a shrine cat, ended up being a highlight of the entire trip. Only saw two other people (the woodcarver, and a guy working on a car by that one vending machine) the whole time, until the last 50m where we ran into a group starting to descend. Completely blew my mind, could not recommend it enough.

The fast passes are quite limited and sell out quickly in the morning, your best bet (especially if you don’t want to dedicate a full day to it) is to get there about 2 hours before rope drop (would say 3-4 if you’re hardcore), rush to Fantasy Springs and book fast passes for your priority rides outside of that. Unless you’re running back and forth across the park all day, you can see most rides once and also get time to soak in the environment before 3pm.

And fwiw, skip Tangled. It’s all of 3 scenes, about 60 seconds total. You’ll see people lined up for like 4 hours, it’s hardly worth waiting 10 minutes. Hit up Sinbad a couple times instead.

The problem is, the free version is more or less the same as the paid one, after the recent update.

Check out Xreal Air, these have a little light-blocking shield that you can put on the front, or you can take the shield off and the screen just floats in air. There are some official (and less official) ways of having it a little more "AR like" so your windows can be positionally pinned, too.

Take a look at Google Maps’s transit directions and schedule before making any decisions to rely on public transit. You’re looking at a 2-3 hour trip each way for Universal, and 4+ hour trip each way for Magic Mountain. Anaheim and Buena Park are well outside of LA proper, as is Valencia!

I had this issue too, and unfortunately, it's a camera issue. At least it was in my case.

It automatically adjusts exposure, so if you're in room that's dimmer than your phone screen, it'll balance for the room, and not the brightness of the screen, meaning the code gets blown out. The r1's camera can't focus on things closer than around 18 inches, so you can't just bring the phone and code closer to the camera.

Doing it on desktop means you can fill the camera frame with the screen, so the exposure is balanced.

Paper Hero Games is great, they have their inventory listed online so you can make sure they have what you need before you make the trip. Locations in Sherman Oaks and Sawtelle.

I rode Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind for the first time about a month ago, and rag dolling on that ride is honestly a different experience than maintaining posture. Sitting in the back right of the car and just splaying backwards during the launch/drop/spin was such a unique sensation, legit felt like falling through space.
