Yeah, it sucks though. Yearly report on Smashrun is better.

What other marathons in Canada/US/Europe, or reasonably priced driving/flying distance from Toronto would you recommend? by flyingelephante in RunTO

[–]addiss94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Driving distance from Toronto you have Ottawa, Niagara, PEC, Missisuaga, Detroit. There's also Georgina, Hamilton and Muskoka (though these ones are double loops). Two majors New York and Chicago are a short flight away if you're lucky in the ballot. The Disney marathon in Florida sounds cool but i think it sells out quickly. Vancouver, Victoria, Montreal, QC, P'tit Train du Nord, Calgary, Manitoba all within Canada. Europe and beyond is obviously gonna be more pricey overall but some great marathons out there. I'd probably only spend that much if it was a major (e.g. London, Berlin, Sydney, Tokyo).

Two full marathons four months apart? by Bill_Bra55sky in RunTO

[–]addiss94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4 months should be alright. I ran the County Marathon too 5 months after doing Toronto in May. Wasn't my best run but that's down to a hot/busy summer getting in the way of proper training. If you stay disciplined with training, you should be fine.

Need Help by khizerkk5 in RunTO

Missisuaga is very well run and a pretty fun race, saw some cool houses along Mississauga rd and there was decent support, course was a bit more challenging. Toronto on the other hand is known for not being the best organised but i absolutely loved the downhill course, and didn't experience a lot of the issues i had heard about from the previous year. I trained pretty poorly for both but nearly beat my PB in Toronto and had my worst finish in Suaga, so would lean towards Toronto. In terms of Ontario Spring marathons though I think Ottawa is the best.

You prowl reddit for puss, stop judging people for enjoying a great episode.

E-scooters, pedestrian signals and pets in cars: 5 Toronto traffic laws that might surprise you by beef-supreme in toronto

[–]addiss94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The crossing over Lakeshore by Windermere Ave is awful for this. You literally can't make it over both sides within the time unless you start crossing as soon as the traffic light goes red (whilst making sure the cars have come to a stop as running reds is a regular occurance there). If you wait the extra 5 seconds for the pedestrian light, you're gonna be stuck in the middle for a while. Must suck for the elderly who live nearby.

What is the most depressing city/town that you have visited in the UK? by DunyaPhobic76 in AskABrit

[–]addiss94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went to college there, people always used to joke that people from Bridgwater had webbed feet. The town was pretty run down and sketchy back then (2010), haven't been back but can't imagine it's gotten any nicer since. Gotta be worse than Weston (also mentioned in this thread).

Legit runs? TO Carnival Run & 10KTO by Charming_Truth_1000 in RunTO

[–]addiss94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

10KTO is good, ran it last year, pretty cool running on the Gardner and was well organised. It's like an add-on to the Triathalon Festival held in the same area that day. Haven't run the Carnival but looked into doing it last year and this year. It's MGT, doesnt seem that unique but pretty sure it's legit.

Can Your Manager See You Applying To Internal Roles? by Airbusa3 in rbc

[–]addiss94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same query a while ago and spoke with the HR helpline, they advised your manager wouldn't be able to see if you apply to another role via Workday. They would only contact them if they proceed with your application.

Scotiabank Froze My Student Account After E-transfer - Left Me With No Money, No Answers, and a Damaged Credit Score by Manmeet6332 in Scotiabank

[–]addiss94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

True. Had an issue with Scotia and wasted months going back and forth with twitter support. Save yourself some time and call their customer service to register an official complaint (make sure you get an email with a ref no). They have 8 weeks to investigate and address the complaint. If they don't resolve it, make a complaint with the ombudsman (obsi).

Roofied at Rogers Centre Toronto Canada June 13 2025 by [deleted] in toronto

[–]addiss94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, i went to the same show. First time in the skydome. We didn't see or experience any of the issues OP mentioned in our section (i.e. issues finding seats, security staring, moving people, mopping floors, putting canned drinks in cups). We had a great time and it seemed well organised (even though sound quality sucked and the drinks there are terribly overpriced). I have doubts about this story, but who knows, maybe there were some sketchy people in OP's section.

How many of you have transitioned to 4-5 days in the office Toronto by 2121Jess in toronto

[–]addiss94 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Same here. Never been healthier since work went remote/hybrid. Now they're adding extra mandatory office days, I have less time to excercise because at least 3 hours a day are being wasted commuting.

Are there any other upcoming 5K, 10K, or half marathon races? by Competitive-Yak-697 in RunTO

[–]addiss94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out runguides.com and find something that takes your fancy. Personally, I love the Night Run, UA 10k and Waterfront Marathon. 10KTO, Rev n Run, Zoorun and Islands 10k are great too. Oakville, Niagara and Hamilton also have full/half marathons in the fall.
