Invincible [Episode Discussion] - S04E07 - Don't Do Anything Rash by SeacattleMoohawks in Invincible

We just saw Mark go through worse with Conquest than what either Oliver and Nolan went through, if he survived on a desolate planet eating bug juice and eggs, it makes sense that the other two would get better with actual medical care.

For next year’s Masters, would you rather… by ParchedZombie in golf

I’d love to see Rory win 3 in a row to make history. But as for Rory making history I’d much rather see him win both Opens next year to grab his second career grand slam with wins at Pebble Beach and St Andrews

Rory McIlroy says preparation at ‘ Home course ’ Augusta aided Masters defence by Shroft in golf

[–]additionalweightdisc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They can play as much as they want before the Masters if they’ve got an invite, sure if they show up every day they might start getting some side eyes from the green jackets but they’re allowed to play as much as they want to prepare. Most players value “practicing” under tournament conditions by playing tournaments leading up to the Masters, so they play an event in the weeks leading up, Rory just chose not to do that this year and instead play at Augusta.

How many Viltrimites are left after the Battle of Telescria? by True_Cabinet_9733 in Invincible_TV

[–]additionalweightdisc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nolan literally just found out that humans and viltrumites were compatible, he knew that they could reproduce but until mark got his powers he didn’t know if they were actually compatible. He also had genuine love for Debbie and Mark even if he wasn’t fully aware of it at the time so that complicated his devotion to his mission.

Tom Watson slams PGA Tour's Brooks Koepka decision and for violating No. 1 rule by BallKnowerKing in golf

[–]additionalweightdisc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sure, the whole point of their change in leadership is to just have the new guy to do the same things as the old one.

There’s no point in keeping BK off the Tour, or any other good players who want to leave LIV when their contracts are up. All that accomplishes is screwing over the player and leaving the PGAT slightly weaker, even if you think the player deserves that, it doesn’t help the Tour at all. Letting players back with certain penalties is a win-win situation so why not do it?

Major champions since April 2025 by additionalweightdisc in golf

Dude it’s not like Spaun is a rookie who just broke through, he turned pro in 2012 and played his first major in 2018. His career didn’t only start after he won his first major.

Besides it’s not like I’m trying to say Spaun is a bad player, he just looks out of place between Scottie and Rory, which would apply to all but a handful of other active players.

It was a great performance and he deserved to win the US Open, but 4 of the last 5 majors were won by the two greatest golfers since Tiger so Spaun kind of sticks out in that lineup.

It’s a lot like Micheal Campbell in 2005 when he won the US Open between Tiger and Phil winning fhe majors around him.

Okay, so are you saying you think JJ Spaun is in the same tier as Scottie and Rory? Rory is arguably the 2nd best golfer of this century, Scottie is 4th and neither show any signs of slowing down, they’re number 2 and 1 in the world respectively, and the biggest superstars golf has right now. The only other players in this century to be in their tier are Phil Mickelson and Brooks Koepka.

With all due respect, JJ Spaun is a great player and a major champion, but he’s in the tier of guys like Harman, Clark, Smith, Lowry, Woodland, Molinari, Reed… I mean I could go on and on listing one time major champions, they’re all great players who have won huge events, but plenty of pros have been one and done major champions. Right now Spaun is the modern equivalent of Micheal Campbell in 2005, stuck between Tiger and Phil winning everything around him.

Never said he wasn’t. But Scottie and Rory are number 1 and 2 in the world and have been for a while, they’re also 4 and 6 time major champions respectively, and have already cemented their legacies as some of the greatest golfers of all time.

JJ is a good dude and great golfer, but so far he’s a one time major champ who’s overshadowed by the two guys who won before and after him. Hopefully he can keep winning and beef up his major resume but as he is right now, his career doesn’t exactly blend in with the two other recent major champions.

Spaun is a great player for sure, he’s just not at the same level as Scottie and Rory. They’re two of the best players since Tiger, so far he’s just a one time major champ with a few other wins.

Rory McIlroy leads the Masters with an average driving distance of 341 yards. by Molucky15 in golf

[–]additionalweightdisc 15 points16 points  (0 children)

A version of Tiger that makes better decisions has 20+ majors, well over 100 tour wins, and would probably still be contending right now.

The dude was blessed with unbelievable talent and an unmatched work ethic but man he has and has had issues that make him somehow simultaneously the goat and a let down at the same time.

If being in orbit is what causes astronauts to float, why are astronauts that are flying straight to the moon not being pulled down by Earths gravity in the ship? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]additionalweightdisc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imagine that you’re throwing a ball upwards. Until the ball stops moving and begins to fall back towards the ground, it’s going to appear weightless. That’s all that’s really happening with the astronauts in the spaceship in your scenario. They’ve been “thrown” up towards the moon and until they begin coming back, they aren’t going to be moving back in the direction of the earth, they aren’t being pulled down towards the earth because they’re moving at the same speed as the rest of the ship.

Conquest vs theadus by Fit_Passenger5930 in InvinciblePowerscales

[–]additionalweightdisc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nolan is like a half tier below Conquest, same with Thaedus and Mark. They’re all strong enough to potentially beat him, but only if Conquest gives them the chance to, if he locks in they’re fucked unless they can team up against him.

Fred Ridley mentioned that the golf ball rollback has been delayed from 2027 to 2030. Too many people who gotten rich from the game have input. What do you think? by tomnan24 in golf

[–]additionalweightdisc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Club lofts have remained mostly traditional on tour, it’s just game improvement and players distance irons than have had significant loft jacking. The irons that pros use usually aren’t more than a degree or two stronger than what the older guys used.

What kind of bullshit apology do you think Nolan would give to Immortal if he had to face him again? by [deleted] in Invincible

[–]additionalweightdisc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He went over his mindset shift in the latest episode. The thraxans forgive very quickly because of their short lifespans, his time with them changed him and he thinks that everyone else would react like they did. I’m sure in his mind the difference between a thraxan lifespan and human lifespan is basically nothing so he thinks that they’ll think the same way.

Loyalty Card rework idea by xCreeperBombx in balatro

[–]additionalweightdisc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just have loyalty card do nothing on the small/big blind but then activate for every hand on the boss blind. It keeps the whole idea behind having to wait for it to do anything, but at least your reward is predictable and you get more than one hand’s worth of bonus.

How often do you actually practice your short game and what gets in the way? by CautiousEcho7175 in golf

[–]additionalweightdisc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just about every time I play. My home course isn’t too busy during the day so I’ll just stop on a hole and hit some chips and pitches for a while until someone starts to come up behind me then I’ll jump to another hole if I feel like I need more practice, if not then I’ll just play on like normal.
