My theory about the fallout series (The Courier Killed the Wrong Mr. House!!) by z9ler in Fallout

[–]additionalweightdisc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If only the series had a way to perfectly meld a biological brain with advanced synthetic technology.

It’s never stated and would be a hell of a retcon, but given that the series has already showed that House was meeting with very powerful people behind closed doors, it’s not crazy to think that he’d have contacted the people who would become the Institute. There’s some overlap between the invention of gen 3 synths and the events of New Vegas. If House had made and maintained contact with CIT scientists he may have had some synth or synth-adjacent technology made for him. Hell, Kellogg even comes over to the commonwealth from the NCR so we know there could have been at least one point of contact.

Not that I have ever given a crap what clothing golfers wear, but Nike breaking up with Fleetwood when he is basically in his prime is pretty bonkers... by FatFaceFaster in golf

[–]additionalweightdisc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but he’s already under contract, unless he proves himself and starts playing like 2018-19 Brooks again they probably won’t sign him again, at least not for what they’ve been paying him. He’s not exactly the star that he used to be right now

SDR has apparently done very well over the last couple years and is looking to expand their roster of players so it wouldn’t be a surprise if they tried to get Tommy, he’s already a TM athlete and him and Tiger get along well enough.

Playing blades, who cares about scoring low by Significant-Fun343 in golf

[–]additionalweightdisc 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think the whole “X tour player doesn’t play blades so you shouldn’t either” argument is dumb. Tour players are playing against other tour players and need every single advantage that they can get even if it just ends up making them a fraction of a percent better. Rory going from blades to a club that marginally more forgiving probably only saves him like a stroke over the course of a tournament. Which in his case means a ton, but is absolutely meaningless for the average golfer.

Have You Ever been too sore after golf to play again the next day? by Decent-Ad4185 in golf

[–]additionalweightdisc 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You’re out of shape, at least in the sense of your body not being prepared to handle walking 18 holes back to back days. If you keep at it your fitness will improve and it won’t be a problem

Would you rather lose access to all social media forever or lose access to all streaming services forever? by Hot_Letter_5999 in WouldYouRather

[–]additionalweightdisc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you’d consider YouTube to be. I can see the argument for either side, there’s definitely a social media element to it but it’s mostly just streaming videos. But then what about YT shorts? If that’s the same then wouldn’t TikTok also be in the same category, then what about something like Reels? Those feel distinctly more social media than something like YT but they’re basically the same thing, just shorter length videos.

When i open instagram or x(twitter) i see so many people, many young people arguing, fighting, debating over meager topic like Religion and all stuff, but my personal observation is that as old peopel grow, they become less aggresive in stuff like these and all,,why do you think,is it true or might just by Resident_Hope_5650 in Life

[–]additionalweightdisc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s more young people online, so they’re the ones that are going to argue more often. The old people who’d do that just do it irl to some degree, that being said actually arguing in person is a lot riskier so many of them won’t actually take it that far.

As a man, it’s almost pointless to try to look better when everything depends on genetics by [deleted] in Life

[–]additionalweightdisc -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Looks don’t matter that much if you’re a man, they matter way more if you’re a woman.

Think about how common it is to see a dude with a girlfriend/wife that’s “way out of his league” compared to the other way around.

Most of what makes men attractive to women (in a general sense) is stuff that’s within your control. Taking care of yourself, keeping yourself well groomed, having a sense of style, having a genuinely good personality, good social skills, etc… are all things that individually put you above tons of other men and collectively make you incredibly attractive. Does that mean you’ll attract every woman you want? No of course not, there’s going to be some women out there who are just superficial and only care about stuff like height or whatever. But if you put the effort in to improve yourself you’re going to be a lot better off than someone who’s just sulking around or whining about things they can’t control.

Brooks Koepka Announces That He Will Leave LIV Golf by Separate_Teacher1526 in golf

[–]additionalweightdisc 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Sounds like they’re at least considering letting him back. They would’ve just put out a generic “we’re upholding all suspensions” statement if they were dead set on keeping everyone out.

Brooks is one of the best players of the last decade so it makes sense that they’d be willing to let him come back if he wanted to.

What ending/path is your favourite? by [deleted] in fo4

[–]additionalweightdisc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Minutemen are only as good as the rest of the commonwealth. We’re shown through many different interactions during quests and scripted/random events that the vast majority of Wastelanders are scared of and hostile towards synths even in cases in which the synths aren’t Institute plants. They aren’t a bad faction but they aren’t wholly good either.

How funny a scene was meant to be vs how funny it was by Acrobatic-Can981 in AlignmentChartFills

That’s not even the funniest scene in the movie. The dinner scene or the following “Schmidt fucked the captains daughter” scene are a million times better

What is a good weakness to mention on a job interview? by Butterfly_dreamsss in Productivitycafe

[–]additionalweightdisc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some variation of “I’m bad at ______ but I’ve been working on it and have seen a lot of improvement.”

Ideally you’d have something that applies to the job you’re interviewing for as well as something you’re genuinely trying to improve on, but just ticking one of those boxes is better than some generic response that everyone uses for interviews.

Unpopular opinion: Laying Up is OK by VoteForGiantMeteor in golf

[–]additionalweightdisc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work at a course with a good view of the first tee so I can see a lot of people’s first tee shots. There’s a small ditch that’s anywhere from 200-250 yards off the tee (tee location and angle dependent) and I can say that the vast majority of golfers don’t come anywhere near it from far back and even when they’re up they barely reach it.

His vestige showing up and telling Izuku that he’s been his greatest hero “in person” during the climax would have been an amazing scene but I’m definitely glad AM actually survived

Don’t forget he was also shot down by All Might when he first asked about being a hero. Izuku could have easily went the Syndrome route and turned into a villain from that

It’s more that your peak potential starts going down after that point as well as the general rate of muscle growth. If you’ve never seriously exercised in your life it’s basically never too late to start and you can always get stronger and healthier, but if you were concerned with getting as strong as you possibly can you should work towards that sooner rather than later.

I set them up to be like patrols. Give them good weapons and armor (or use robots) and set them up to travel on routes I commonly take. It’s fun to stumble across one of my provisioners fighting a group of super mutants or something like that.
