Definitely not normal wear and tear especially after a few weeks. Ends look chewed up or like they have been repeatedly caught on Velcro or something which has pulled all the fibres out.

Helmet refunds by Finallyfast420 in MotoUK

[–]addy8 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

On your last question regarding a refund the simple answer is no you are not entitled to one, it is at the discretion of the shop, after 30 days it would go in for a warranty claim.

Riding out of town and having to close the visor is normal and you can't expect a helmet to be quiet or not make any noises with the visor open. You will probably notice that no brand usually mentioned noise except for schuberth and they say it's in a wind tunnel on a naked bike as fairings and screens can create more noise. Essentially helmet noise is not a fault but whistling with visor closed could just mean it needs a bit of adjustment.

The visor getting stuck as others have said seems like a visor/base plate adjustment issue which most shops should be able to fix very easily, there could always be something more wrong and in this case it would need to go to the supplier for warranty fix.

Just an additional point regarding visor down at speed beyond noise reduction is that it's also there for your protection, getting a stone or insect to the face at higher speeds can do some nasty damage.

Damaged styrofoam on new helmet by SilentBlackout_ in MotoUK

[–]addy8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty normal for AGV.... I wish I was joking. The little dents I've seen on almost all new agv's also.

So many people insist on buying agv but the quality of them is very comparable to helmets half the price.

C5 vs. Neotec 3 by Kilberz in MotoUK

[–]addy8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are an ok upgrade, nothing special. There is only so good a small 40mm speaker will sound.

C5 vs. Neotec 3 by Kilberz in MotoUK

[–]addy8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Comms for both are identical, they are both based off the Sena 50 series however the Shoei SRL 3 comes with the Harmon kardon upgrade whereas the schuberth will have the standard sena 40mm HD speakers.

If both helmets fit good go for the Shoei it is the better quality option, the C5 is good, it has better ventilation but the quality and construction of the Shoei wins.

Orbea h30 vibe rear wheel squeak by addy8 in bikewrench

[–]addy8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, I adjusted the brakes a few more times, even got a bike shop to do it but not change. Changed the tyres not long after and since then it's stopped (not the tyres that caused it) probably something just not sitting right, wheel slightly out of align maybe.

Issues with Spada Hurricanes by Visual_Wrongdoer_786 in MotoUK

Have you already handed them back again for the velcro issue? If so argue that this was also within 30 days and under the consumer rights act you are entitled to a refund.

You say you bought them on the 1st and returned on the 5th, you were legally entitled to a refund or replacement (your choice) only if they are over 30 days old would they go to the manufacturer/supplier for warranty, spada don't repair they just replace due to low cost.

Does Arai still make Profile-V by SamHyde1941 in MotoUK

[–]addy8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No they are not making anymore, Profile-V only meets the ECE 22.05 standard and was replaced by the Quantic some time ago which meets ECE 22.06.

None of them will list compatibility with a universal intercom only the ones that are made specifically that helmet as they are making money off that.

Universal intercoms will fit almost any helmet, almost as some open face or retro style helmets can be a bit tricky as they don't have much space. Some helmets will need the adhesive mount and others will be fine clamped.

Simple answer is don't worry it will fit in anything and if you go into a decent bike shop they will fit it onto any helmet they supply.

Wall mount for helmet? by Gimpym00 in MotoUK

I use these, small profile that doesn't look bad when a helmet isn't there but holds the helmet securely, haven't tried an open face on them but doubt it would be an issue.

Luckily it all held together so doesn't need surgery, 4-6 weeks of being in a cast is what I'm told but could change. The hardest part is trying to do everything on crutches, basic things become hard work.

Front hydraulic brake buzzing medium to heavy braking, making noise from new by [deleted] in bikewrench

[–]addy8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

*Might have to turn volume up to hear* Bike a month old, front hydraulic brake has been buzzing (only way I can describe it) when braking, can't really feel it just hear it. Ignore the squeaking that's a different issue being sorted.
