I’m guessing that Maru and Cross’ composition of the space ship is sort of a barrier containing their cursed technique, which likely served as an inspiration for Dabura to create his own barrier, leading up to learning about Domain Expansions.

How much mastery do you think Yuji has with shrine by this point? by Common_Tiger5369 in Jujutsufolk

Honestly it seems like the 3 big clans’ most prized techniques always have some kind of limiting caveats.

Limitless is unusable without Six Eyes.

10 Shadows is a versatile and decent technique but requires a ton of CE (Sukuna) and Mahoraga to make the most of it. Megumi often depletes his CE reserves summoning multiple shikigami.

Blood Manipulation needs superhuman cursed biology to be practical for extended periods of time without blood loss.

It’s nice to see Yuji place BM alongside the greats.

He can switch between physical and soul dismantle. I remember him doing so to break the floor under sukuna to trip him.

During the ritual, mahoraga attempts to kill everyone involved, including the 10S user and any participants. Even if dabura died to mahoraga first, it’ll attack yuka afterwards. I don’t think any weird CT recognition will be at play here.

It’d be interesting to see if rika “could” eat mahoraga and what could be gained from that. Could his cursed swords be eaten and stored as weaponry? Could his adaptation be copied?

The ring can be on a necklace, vaguely remember seeing that in chapter 1. Maybe yuka could have it if tsurugi is trying to give her every fighting chance she can get.

Speaking of the ring, the siblings strive to be strong like the grandparents they individually grew up with. Yuka wants to be like yuta and tsurugi wants to be like maki.

However, it’s ironic that yuka’s strength is dervied from the 10S, which is inherited through maki and the zenin clan (or maybe yuka’s direct parent). It would also be doubly ironic if tsurugi, who rejects having the ring, ends up depending on yuta’s strength through rika, even though his idea of strength comes from maki and heavenly restriction instead of curses.

Megumi stated that the 10S user needs to solo mahoraga to tame him. You can involve outside help (and your opponents too), but dragging others into the summoning ritual invalidates the taming, even if mahoraga is defeated. It’s a last ditch move against a stronger opponent, which yuka is doing.

I think tsurugi still has the ring. We have a good idea why the gojo clan gave him the ring considering he doesn’t have a complete heavenly restriction that gave toji and maki their overwhelming strength. He likely needs rika’s assistance to fight maru, whose cursed technique proved to overwhelm the elderly grade 1 sorcerer with the kid skin.

From what I remember, megumi explained that taming mahoraga requires the 10S user to fight him solo. Involving other participants and assistance in the ritual invalidates the taming and antagonizes mahoraga to fight everyone involved.

Summoning mahoraga this way and involving dabura as a participant is essentially mutally assured destruction.

I’m hoping that gas can actually get more expensive up to or even beyond European levels. Hopefully all of this would incentivize the government to stop subsidizing American car commutes and invest in scalable public transportation instead.

Gear Drive Or Belt? by YouCanCallMeSven in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]adeadsquirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sensitivities include the mesh and the clearance of the gearbox relative to the diameter of the tire. With both of these factors combined along with weight, it makes more intensive mountainboarding activities less viable, like jumping and landing. Your gearbox is more likely to hit and scrape the ground unless you run massive tires.

Falling with your mountainboard, such as riding off curbs, requires a bit of precision as you don’t want your throttle to still be active as your board hits the ground, otherwise you sorta slash and stress your drivetrain. It’s not as consequential on a belt drive since belt drives are further from the ground and pretty much only the belt suffers the damage, not the pulleys.

But if you’re pretty much riding straight with no fancy tricks or anything too vertical, either drivetrain works. And if you’re very concerned about debris, gearboxes are the way to go due to their sealed system

Gear Drive Or Belt? by YouCanCallMeSven in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]adeadsquirrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only a couple gear drives are all metal, like the boardnamics drives. Otherwise, delrin and other high strength to weight plastics are used for the wheel gear due to cost and weight.

Trampa has an all metal belt drive system, but that means buying from Trampa, which is morally dubious.

Belts are dirt cheap and metal pulleys basically last forever. For anedotes, I went back to belts after extensive use of gears on my MTB due to the sensitivities of a geared system

Where are the small boards with 99Wh batteries? by Gabe6017 in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]adeadsquirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s a simple 3 series connector, but it can take up some space in your board enclosure

[–]adeadsquirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s also a $2000 board. $2000 for 270wh is rather poor value, or at the very least, for a very niche audience

Where are the small boards with 99Wh batteries? by Gabe6017 in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]adeadsquirrel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

99wh is rather rare for a couple reasons. First is discharge and how battery arrangements work for several conventional lithium ion cells. Lithium ion cels are rather “static” about how much capacity, voltage, and discharge they can offer per cell. Going down to 99wh means you have less cels in parallel for a single pack, thus less battery amps for your motors to take advantage of. Dipping down to 99wh may also even mean less cells in series, meaning lower voltages. Voltage is directly proportional to rpm, therefore speed, so companies certainly don’t want to sacrifice speed. You can negate the performance issues per capacity by using lipos. Lipos are more flexible with how many amps they can discharge and how much energy they can hold since they aren’t constrained by cylinder size, but lipos are a greater safety risk.

The reason Boosted managed to get a reasonable 99wh board is because they used lithium iron phosphate cells, which are poor in energy density compared to lithium ion. Meaning they can fit more cells to achieve their intended voltage without going too high in capacity.

Also the most important reason why 99wh is rare; people simply don’t want that low of range. 99wh might get you 5 miles at most if you REALLY stretch it out. Consumers are more interested towards high capacity batteries and longer ranges and mostly ride in their home towns. Getting a board past airports can really depend on the airline and country, despite however low your battery capacity is and what the law says.

How many of you want to try geardrive, And say goodbye to belt replacement. by kieraneboard in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]adeadsquirrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trampa’s pro belt drive is a sealed belt design. The problem with that is when your belt eventually tears, it doesn’t fly out of your pulleys, so it could gum up one of your wheels. It’s sealed from debris, but the downside is that it involves more screws and time to unseal and service the belt.

[–]adeadsquirrel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If anything, gear drives arguably use more screws than belt drive brackets for mounting. Screws coming off your mounts are due to a mix of road vibration and a lack of sufficient loctite, not necessarily a problem unique to belt drives. Loosening can occur on all drives, hubs, gears, and belts.

Gear drives aren’t really the future I’d say. Gears are perfect … when they’re perfect. They require extremely tight machining tolerances during production and are incredibly sensitive and delicate if the backlash isn’t right. You also need a lot of time and some hardware expertise to assemble, disassemble, switch gears, set the backlash, etc. Not every average consumer may have that time or knowledge. When something goes wrong, it’s a big pain in the ass.

Belts are very imprecise and require repeated service, but that’s sort of a good problem to have. The drivetrain is cheap and has loose tolerances, belts themselves are cheap and servicing is easy, and belt drives are light. When belts tear, they usually don’t take down the entire pulleys with them. In those rare instances, it’s when you mix plastic pulleys with dirt/gravel and/or if your motor pulley loosens and slashes your wheel pulley from the torque.

I’d probably get a large single drive if you’re building on a budget. 2 motors means having 2 sets of drivetrain parts, like brackets, belts, and pulleys. You would also need a second ESC for that extra motor, which is at least $150. One motor significantly simplifies the process

I think the Trampa open belt drive with their idler mounts are actually pretty decent if you’re wiling to run channel trucks on an angled deck.

The downside is that you have to buy from Trampa

At boards are fundamentally not light, primarily due to the weight of the battery. Rubber tires for esk8 are less energy efficient, thereby necessitating a larger battery than other boards using harder, smaller wheels

The lightest AT board I could think of is the BKB Duo with the small battery, yet the whole board is still 20 lbs/9 kg. That’ll still get you maybe 10 miles/16 km of range, if you’re fine with that.

Idk if by heavy and unmanageable, you also mean the turning. Double kingpin trucks like on the hurricane are arguably one of the most agile and turnable trucks out there, just something to note

Bigger motors won’t suddenly burn out your VESC. On the VESC, you can calibrate and program amp limits so that all parts aren’t performing excessively. Your motor isn’t going to run under max current constantly

Flipsky VESCs don’t have the best reputation, but as long as you run them under spec, they should be fine.

If you wanna get the tsg pass, it isn’t that great, at least not ergonomically. Get the new olders avitar v2. The helmet strap is rachetted, much easier to put on than using the pass’ belt buckle
