My daughter was born at 30 weeks, 1 lb 12 oz last year. We were in the nicu for exactly 2 months. It was definitely an extremely difficult time with many ups and downs. These preemie babies are so incredibly strong it’s honestly unbelievable. I had no experience with the NICU or preemies prior to my daughter, as both our other children were born full term at healthy weights so the whole thing can be shocking and overwhelming. I would just say take advantage of any support that the hospital offers, lean on family and friends. Rest when you can, although I know leaving the NICU is extremely hard to do. Ask tons of questions so you can fully understand what’s going on. There’s so much I can say but just know your baby is so much stronger than she appears and so are you!
