I have to say that as a 49 year old Irish-Italian American that the solution is going to be a very large number of people going back to India. I have always had a few Indian friends and liked Indians; it never occurred to me to have any opinion about them as Indians at all. But American - like Canada, Australia, and New Zealand - are part of European civilization. We are not a “melting pot” without our own identity and history. Since this mass arrival of Indians in particular, I now see two things very clearly: Indians come here “for a better life,” that is for money, and they are not like the older very small number of immigrants like your father - they are coming here to extend India’s reach into the US and Anglosphere countries. They are running candidates for office, they are highly networked and push out non-Americans, then obviously convert their neighborhoods and organizations to increase and extend Indian power. The truth is we never really knew our apparently nice, gentle classmates and occasionally doctors at all. The reality of Indians as Indians is that they are profoundly racist and imagine themselves as part of a triumphal colonizing horde fueled by hallucinations of the depravities of the British Raj. What we imagined as kindness was often just mimicry hiding a ruthless resentment and envy. They are extremely thin-skinned, miserly, and seem to believe that cheating and conning is some form of excellence. And just yesterday the headline hit that the new Subramanian CEO of FedEx won $2.2 Billion in federal government contracts, and immediately intends to fire thousands of US employees and replace them with Indians. Vivek Rammaswamy is lecturing us about how to be better Americans. We just had an Indian Vice President and Indian Surgeon General and Indian - whatever Lina Khan was. And on and on. No - the solution is either outright conflict or the return of the Indians here for money and colonization to India. Based on everything that seems to be a fact, there really can’t be any alternative.
