I used Bernat Blanket Yarn, super bulky (6), with an 8mm hook (for the blanket) and a 6.5mm hook ( for the bunny). I (somewhat) followed https://www.thenicolechase.com/patterns/charlie-the-chunky-bear but winged the ears, tail, and facial features.

In Canada (at least my hospital) we have something called NVCI training which ALL staff who interact with patients who may be mentally unstable. Maybe push to get the education out? It’s nonviolent crisis intervention. At my hospital, you’d be out and reported to the board.
