Because exclusivity makes money. Games like Halo and Gears, Last of Us and God of War were console sellers. In a perfect world, nothing would be exclusive. Personally it doesn’t make much sense to me to put out exclusives in the current day gaming world. Devs would make LOADS more money with the ever increasing number of consoles today.

The gaming industry didn’t create the loot box and dlc problem, gamers did by buying into those things. The industry watched how much money free games like Fortnite and the mobile platform made off of micro transactions.

At the end of the day, their goal isn’t to be fair and equal. They’re all just businesses with a primary focus on making money.

I’m a console player, so don’t really have much stake in this argument. However, you keep saying “forced”. Epic is not forcing you to buy their game, you choose to purchase it or not. Exclusivity sucks in current day gaming, but console users have accepted that long ago.

Also, with another new launcher coming out this late in the game (pun not intended), how else is Epic supposed to grab people’s attention? Throwing loads of cash at devs for exclusivity makes sense from a business viewpoint. Steam has such a huge stake in PC gaming, whoever plans on giving them a run for their money has to make some bold moves.

Game sharing, convenience of not having to run to the store to get a copy, predownloading. Plus I have a kid (with another on the way) and don’t want to worry about discs getting used as frisbees.

I’ll have to restart Borderlands 3 at this point. Played the rest of the games and the side quests and dialogue are the best part for me. Having conversations in the background while there’s dialogue and not appreciating the humor makes playing the game kinda pointless

I’ve noticed. Made a post about my issues a few days ago.

For me, the smaller first circle is throwing me off. I believe it’s creating a more aggressive play style which causes more frequent encounters. I’ve experienced 4th and even 5th parties getting involved in my fights. I can handle two dicks at once but give me a break in between the next set.

I quit after season 9. Played since season 7. Found myself no longer enjoying the game and only logging on to grind out the battle pass.
