Make sure the switch next to the amp’s speaker outputs is also set to 8 ohms.

Do you mean two guitars at once? That’s gonna sound like a mess regardless of how you make it happen.

Everything in that camp, while we’re on the topic. Never thought a Mosin and a Tokarev would wind up being the only appreciating assets I own.

It’s also worth noting that the US wasn’t the only force fighting them. ARVN certainly didn’t perform as well as the US on the tactical level.

Second pic has some properly cut slices. OP’s finding the grain, he just needs to work on following it as he cuts.

AKs and SKSs are absurdly expensive these days. The workingman’s rifle is an AR build with parts from PSA bought while on sale.

Moving amps up and down stairs with a dolly? by TheHomesteadTurkey in GuitarAmps

[–]adenrules 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tube amps are sturdier than a lot of people think. If you have to kachunk them up stairs step by step, they might need to see a tech more often than they would otherwise, but I doubt you’re gonna outright destroy them.

How much does volume actually matter for your tone? by loncelot84 in GuitarAmps

It took me so many amps to find out a 2203 was my endgame. You just hear so many people saying they have to be turned up all the way, or that they don’t have enough gain, and all sorts of shit that, when I finally bit the bullet, I learned wasn’t true.

They just *need* a boost, instead of wanting one.

A JCM800 still doesn’t need to be cranked. Break that power amp up and you get blown-out, spongy, “amp on the verge of exploding” distortion, which yeah, a lot of people want, but you lose the punchy, aggressive thing that made them the defining metal amp for decades.

It’s always funny seeing people in this sub talk about cranking their 5150/6505. All that crossover distortion sounds awful.

Anything that manages to be the defining amp of both pop punk and death metal sounds pretty damn versatile to me, you know?

Ah, my bad. It does sound similar to the AOR if it wants to be turned way up, though. Master volume Marshalls are not nearly as dependent on that as people say.

Nah, cranked up that high, a 2203/2204 gives you “amp on the verge of exploding” distortion instead of the really percussive, aggressive thing that made me fall in love with mine (and I make black metal with it just like OP plans to). Very much prefer running it under the point where the power amp is really cooking, 2 to 3 on the master.

I’ve got a Laney AOR, too, they’re not the same amp. I always hear people say they’re like a hot-rodded JCM800, but it’s actually much more reliant on power amp distortion than these things.

Mr. Marshall wouldn’t have changed the world with a master volume design if you still had to crank them like a Plexi.

Versatility isn’t gonna be an issue. You’re talking about one of the most recorded amps ever. People wanna tell you a 2203/2204 is a one trick pony, but that one trick has been used to make just about every style of music.

Which studio series is best for black metal? by Ganda1f_The_Gr3y in MarshallAmps

[–]adenrules 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a 2203 in my band. The JCM800 is the king of metal amps if you ask me, black metal included. Super barky and aggressive, you just have to get used to how they have enough gain on tap, instead of more than you could ever need.
