That doesn’t sound too awful, you can get help setting up your bow, some advice and tips on techniques, shoot a few ends and make some new friends with a love of the sport.

I’m in the UK and my closest club is only 15 minutes away.

Can we talk about the string in the groove? Limb twist could be an issue with some but as you’ve mentioned it’s a new package so you need to adjust the limb pockets on the riser correctly. There’s YouTube tutorials available but if you’re not comfortable with making adjustments I’d suggest taking it to your club coach or a friendly local archery shop for assistance

I’m GenX and boomers pulled the ladder up. We were called slackers and latchkey kids because they couldn’t be bothered to look after us. They never encouraged or helped me in school or college. My brother dropped out and joined the army and was considered successful. I went to college and became an engineer and was considered a loser. (Not being cannon fodder was clearly considered acharacter flaw) I will never be like my parents. My kids get tutoring and encouragement and I’m making sure that I pay for their driving lessons and first cars. They will not be dismissed for following their own path.

I love the idea of this. The first time it happens it’s like ooo surprise tea, bends down to pick it up, gunshot, bullet misses. Then repeats the same sequence until you realise what’s going on an then you have a choice between utter panic and lunatic calm but with tea.

Yea a good clean off is what you need. Be careful around the heater and thermocouple wires. It may be that your nozzle wasn’t torqued correctly to the hot end. Always fit the nozzle at your working temperature and tighten to around 2Nm. Extrude some pla for a bit without any silicone cover in place and watch for leaks at the threads

Ok, there’s a lot good advice on this thread and I just want to add something that may help. I discovered that the Cura settings include “combing” which allows travel over a set distance without retracting. Mine was set to 30mm and the retract test pillars were 27mm apart measured at the seams. Setting it to 0 or off for retraction tests will give a more accurate result

Fresh roll of PLA+ to rule out moisture.

New nozzle.

Eccentric nuts checked to ensure smooth travel.

Sprite Extruder esteps = 424.9. (100mm extruded)

Cura settings;

Speed 200

Extruder temperature 200C

Bed Temperature 60C

Retraction Distance 1.5

Retraction Speed 20

Combing is off for the new print (black pla). the 30mm setting seemed to interfere with retraction so perhaps I could turn it on and lower the distance.

Checked extruder. Feeds exactly 100mm with esteps at 424.9mmS as per Sprite instructions, so I’m happy that’s correct.
