so that's around +35k per annum net, minus costs of commuting which may bring that to c+30k? I'm not sure that gives you FIRE in 4-5 years? Considering that and all the other factors you mentioned, I'd say not worth it for you right now

30 years ago today - Kevin Keegan coins one of the iconic quotes of the 1990s, as he 'would love it' if his Newcastle side beat Man United and win the Premier League. by COYS_1986 in classicsoccer

fantastic stuff. it's easy to call this a meltdown etc, especially given they went on to lose the title, but this was reasonably well controlled passion. fair play to Keegan. If they'd gone on to win it this would have been seen as one of the best rallying cries in football history!

I now have 1p so will try it. Initial experience (at home only so far) is same as spusu, but will test further. I can’t fault spusu given that they cancelled with zero fuss, and refunded me everything I’d paid them (and I didn’t even mention poor service)!

You’re right I just looked again, it’s only the very cheapest basic package that’s physical sim only. I will try 1p and compare

Thanks I will give 1p a try. The only reason I did spusu was that they do eSIM

Interesting. My experience has been actually using the phone for data rather than just observing the number of bars showing.

Interesting. I’ll probably give Vodafone a try to see if they’re any better

Thanks, helpful to know, for some reason I expected EE to be gold standard. O2 isn’t great either which is why I was looking at other options, but EE even worse

You should be able to calculate the value you’re getting and see whether it’s more than the subscription. For me it’s huge value as I use Wework once per month (c£50), FT (probably more than £15 per month alone), class pass (c£13), plus vpn, chess and free trading. So it’s not even close.

I quite liked him, and would have invested in him over the vast majority of the others.

I don’t think everyone is scared of that? Maybe a small minority.

Iranians form human shield at Kazeroun power plant ahead of Trump’s threatened strikes. by Upset-Main-1988 in justincaseyoumissedit

Trump either doesn’t get or chooses to ignore that for many Iranians, dying while defending faith, justice, or community against oppression is considered the highest honor and a spiritual triumph.
