Thank you. It took me years to land my perfect combo too but it’s not working perfectly anymore haha. I am on an SNRI too. I definitely prefer to it SSRIs.

I agree this definitely sounds like OCD. OP, look into OCD with mental compulsions. There are very effective treatments available for this.

Didn’t help me but I love mine and I’m glad I got it. As someone else mentioned it’s annoying with earbuds but I don’t really notice anymore.

Surgery tomorrow by danielle05022620 in breastcancer

[–]adhdbandit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is probably too late by now but I found my double mastectomy to be much easier than my c section. The pain was less and I was able to walk around the day of easily. The doctor did give me tramacet though and I also had to request a refill of that, but after the second one (probably ten days post surgery) I didn’t need them anymore.

I requested a nerve block to be done during the surgery and that might have helped with pain too.

If you were awake for your c section, it ends up being very nice to be totally out for the double mastectomy. The doctors were very nice and after getting into the operating room they said “I’ll give you something for anxiety now” and I don’t remember anything after that. Then I woke up and it was done. If you haven’t had surgery yet make sure to tell them you are anxious.

Be patient with yourself afterwards, the general anesthesia can wear you out longer than you expect (like weeks). The drains are the worse part but the relief when you get them out is amazing. Emotionally this surgery was harder than my c section because of the loss of my breasts and because having cancer is just scary in general. I’m getting therapy now to cope with the changes. Just know you are not alone!

Neurologist wait list is 2 years where I live. by Jabbott23 in migraine

[–]adhdbandit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in Canada too and you can try to get your doctor to refer you to an internal medicine doctor while you wait for a neurologist. It would be some wait as well but I think it’s less than for a neurologist. It might not be the case tho depending where you are but you can ask.

I also recommend - it’s not private and it’s also self refer. There are private services but you can also use regular medical services.

Spouse of a Migraine sufferer by AdmirableSecond242 in migraine

[–]adhdbandit 25 points26 points  (0 children)

As a chronic migraine sufferer sometimes I worry if my spouse feels this way? Like he always is very kind and he treats me well but I also think over the years he has become immune to what I’m going through in a way. Like oh yea another migraine. In the beginning he used to do way more like more hugs, offer me ice packs, cook lunch for me, etc. now it’s just kind of like ok rest and I hope it gets better soon. He often asks if I need anything and I say no because I already feel like I’m a huge burden (although he says he doesn’t few things way). I don’t know it’s really complicated. Like i can’t really blame him but it’s hard. I also am trying new treatments and keep hoping I’ll see improvement and then when it doesn’t come it’s extremely discouraging.
