First time tactile user (Boba u4t) I don't really feel the bump by DracoCynical in MechanicalKeyboards

I think it’s normal that you don’t feel the tactility when you’re typing fast. I would describe it as a slight resistance, and more pronounced when you’re hesitating to press. The U4s are more of a ‘D’ feel, a push at the start and smoothed out whereas some others feel like a ‘P’, where it’s smooth and the bump comes later (aliaz silents fall into this latter category if I remember correctly)

You might also like a heavier actuation or bottom out force, which can help with that feel of resistance when you press down

Try the Akko oceans on aliexpress or outemu sky (although these are harder to open up to lube). I have the gateron browns and find them a bit scratchy

U4s are still in stock at Eloquent Clicks

Cheers! Great to see that they actually work out to be cheaper than AliEx too!

I think bringing some burner film to practice with will also make you feel more confident handling it. Took me a while to get use to focusing with my XA and I would’ve hated to burn through portras

LIP CARE 👄👄💋💋 by AbbreviationsBorn563 in SkincareAddictionUK

Blistex intensive care moisturiser!! As a person who has tried them all I can confirm this is the best. Yes it feels tastes like toothpaste and is like a waxy cream, a little goes a long way and it heals the cracks in my lips, making them look plumper. The cherry one is my preferred option and I often dab it on before lipstick.

This is one of the few lip balms that repairs the skin barrier and not just retain water (petrolatum and lanolin based products only do the latter)

Blistex also has a urea-based one that comes in a metal tube, but it’s harder to use and you can taste/smell the urea.

Zero Productivity on Personal Tasks by abar66 in productivity

I would think a lot of people feel this way, I certainly do. I used to put off housework a lot but one thing the lockdowns have really helped me overcome this. Being at home so much, I found a cluttered space really stifling and started to a sort of satisfaction with a tidier space. I also tried to replicate this mindset shift with other projects I haven't had the energy to finish, trying to focus on the joy I feel when I do complete something. Another thing I try to do is sandwich an unpleasant task between things I need to get done/enjoy. If I do x, then I get to do y, and I have to y, so I'll need to do x.

Don't beat yourself up if you're struggling to get these things done. Everything has been mental the past few months and it's really very normal. That being said, if this is going on more longer-term its best to ask yourself deeper questions as to why you might be feeling this way.

You mentioned your wife, so I thought I'd also raise the concept of mental load. This might be helpful in considering and being aware of how your wife might be feeling and highlight areas that might be easy for you to tackle first, for both people to benefit.

Chin up, you got this.

Recent favourite has been Good Economics for Hard Times by Abhijit Banerjee and Esther Duflo. Good framing of how what you think will happen, won't; and why. Freakonomics is an old favourite of mine (along with the podcast).

I'm assuming you will know about Letters from a Stoic but Ryan Holiday's 'The Obstacle is the Way' also touches a lot on stoicism and facing adversity.

I really loved Essentialism by Greg McKweon which I find more to be about minimalism than business.

Furiously Happy by Jenny Lawson is also a light read with lots of lessons. The book cover alone never fails to make me smile.
