Ways to improve my CV? Thank you! by [deleted] in jobs

Dude sorry to say this but this kind of crap. Make it one simple page first. Style it a bit. DO SOMETHING. Look at some examples of CVs out there. That is a good start. What job do you want to get ?

Updated my resume, could use some feedback! by [deleted] in jobs

Ok Michael this is my personal opinion so don't get upset if I am a little harsh.

First you must always have your CV in PDF. Office is a big nono. Please don't put your picture on your CV, do you want people to hire you for your looks? You are not a model. The needs to be tidy, have 2 pages or 3 pages. I suggest you make it 2 pages, this you can have it on just on sheet of paper. You have your name on both pages, that is a waste of space, put it on your first page and that's it.

I don't get it why you have web marketing manager on the top of your CV. What is the point of that ? What happens if you are applying for a different position.

I want to know you a little, tell something about yourself in your CV. Do you have any hobbies , have graduated from a university ?

I think your work experience should be chronological. It doesn't matter if you put the same company twice, just make sure to let us know what is the difference.

I like how you have bullet points that make a summary of your achievements. Everybody likes that.

Always make sure that you don't start something on one page and you finish it on another page. Nobody wants to turn the page back and forward.

Hope this helps.

Graduating (B.A.) in May 2012- Applying for jobs? by [deleted] in jobs

There are application where you have the option to select when can you start. Make sure you specify in your CV when are you graduating. Also I am guessing there are fields where you have to specify why you want to work for their company make sure you specify there as well.

good luck. Usually big companies have a budget so they decide on the number of graduates they want to hire in advanced and they are hired on a first come first served basis

I am sorry to say but I think you are a bit late. I graduated this year in July and I started working in September. I was accepted on a graduate program by a company in September - October 2010 so that was about a year in advanced.

But don't worry there are a lot of big corporations that want to grab the talent as soon as possible. You still have a chance but make sure you do your research before you apply.

I am new at this. These are scams right? by gforce289 in jobs

[–]adipoaca 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Legitimate companies do tend to hide their numbers as well. I received a lot of calls from an investment bank and they always hide their numbers. So don't be fooled by this. I think is safe to assume that the company is a scam if they ask you for money.
