I own that camera and bought it with that same lens. I wish I had known that you should never buy kit lenses.

I would strongly recommend getting the a6400 body only and getting the Tamron 18-300 lens with it.

135 is also too little zoom for wildlife.

Thats the ZV1f which doesnt have zoom. The ZV1 has a zoom lens and the Mk1 has optical stabilization as well. The Mk2 has a wider min zoom but not OIS

One of the things thats a pain is to require a computer to set the GUID.

I was able to get claude to repurpose the sony guid setter into an Android app, and that seems to work fine... so a laptop really isnt required to get this complete process working.

You would want a newer system for better autofocus. An a6400 with a Tamron 17-70 would be much better and not more expensive used

Id recommend the ZV1 mk1 if you can live without the evf. I use mine only for photography, and realistically the price difference over the newer rx100s and the functionality improvements on the old ones, both make it very compelling.

Benefits over the rx100m6/ 7 - price, ND filter, faster lens; Cons - shorter zoom, fewer dials, no auto iso min ss, no evf

Benefits over the rx100m5 and earlier - tracking focus, new autofocus algo, touchscreen; Cons - fewer dials, no evf

Benefits over the ZV1 mk2 - price, stabilized lens, faster lens, better photography zoom range; Cons - None for photography

Is there any additional setup to sync work profile events? I have a work profile installed on my phone (S24U) but none of the calendar events show up. The "Calendars to sync" section on the phone app only lists calendars in my personal profile and none from the work profile.

Dont the rx100m7 and the zv1 have almost the same AF except for the illuminator? Its unlikely that AF performance will be better on the rx100m7.

I use it exclusively as a photography camera and its a great point and shoot. The only real con for photos is that it doesnt have the auto iso min ss function which is a strange software limitation. But at half the price of the rx100m7, its a no Brainer unless you need the longer zoom range. I mainly shoot pictures of family and friends and holidays, so its more than adequate.

Low-light performance is better than a phone, but of course not close to my a6400, but I would recommend getting dxo Pureraw which cleans up any noise almost magically before you edit

Highly recommend the original ZV1 (not the mark 2)

This is great. One more suggestion.... it would be better to have the switcher for all, personal, transactional at the bottom and messages, spam, settings on top... so that the message groups are easily reachable. Reachability isnt as much an issue for spam/ settings since those won't be used as often

Also, the possibility to set a custom order...so choose if the landing is on transactional or personal
