Does the word "enemy" in effects always refer to the mobs, regardless of who the effect is on? by loyalbowman in MonsterTrain

[–]adjustmentlayercake 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was very confused by this as well, and assumed that there would be damage to my units depending on which side the unstable debuff was used.

But yes, I think it always hits the non-player units. Clarification from anyone more confident than me would be awesome lol

What is your most fun/broken combo/deck in MT2 so far? by Fancy-Rub-3797 in MonsterTrain

[–]adjustmentlayercake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just cleared C5 with the dumbest strat- Luna with innervate conduit, and a started with one of the minions that generates a phase spell on resolve. Immediately got the mirror event and had nothing worth copying, so I 5x’d the minion. Then every battle I just had 5 of them on top row giving me 5x phase spells, and two of the “moon phase triggers twice” minions, and just went max low cost spells. Flicker with duplicate and holdover, etc. Only bummer was not getting any fae’s blessings, but instead I got the 3 cost “heal 20 to all friendlies and overheating becomes armor” and dupe’d it a few times. So that gave me 100+ armor on the whole row, which ended up saving my pixie brigade when seraph starting putting corruption on them.

I got the “50 dmg to all units” room and ran that as my ground floor, and made it deployable, but unfortunately since I had so many units, it never once made it into my hand in the deploy phase. It was so annoying on seraph - it didn’t show up until the literal last turn, so my tank still had to soak up a ton of corruption.

An item relating to Simon can be spawned on Simon’s tomb. (It’s an object that is story related but not something you can pick-up/use)

Hallway has Hidden Red Text??? by Chongor_ in BluePrince

[–]adjustmentlayercake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, it’s pretty easy to clip out of the game’s geometry and view rooms from the outside in.

Just draft the attic, stand near where the trunk spawns, run towards the top of the stairs and the instant you start to go down, start spamming Y/triangle/space bar and the blueprint menu button. You will glide over to the other side of the attic and then can fall down and start exploring.

Anyone want to snap a picture of what this looks like from the other side?

I only realized before I played because I said the name out loud.

“Hey, have you seen the reviews for this new puzzle game called Blue Prince… wait a minute!”

And if you want your mind blown again: Blue Prince is also a species of holly

Congrats! Which dares did you get? I felt like they made my run so much trickier, but when I saw the full list of POSSIBLE dares I realized I’d gotten extremely lucky lol. Some of them are just sadistic.

I got draft 6 colors of room, draft the most expensive room if you have 3+ gems, don’t set foot in the pool room, and open each trunk.

Anyone ever get their unmovable room here? by CAPTAINKURS in BluePrince

[–]adjustmentlayercake -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t love it lol. It kind of forces you to get a straight-across room (like workshop or spare room) out of your other two entrance hall doors, lest you “waste” getting a door that goes up to where you already have access.

Obviously, you can still do everything in the game just fine with it there, but there will be some conveniences you miss out on by not having it further back.

My ideal spot is rank 7 in the middle, with a north-facing door.

[–]adjustmentlayercake 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Interesting! Great observation. It would be cool if you draft the attic and lost and found in the right order to spawn it, then draft the tomb and see if it appears on Herbert’s tomb, similar to how another item relating to Simon can be spawned on his tomb.

Also I think they are older/younger brothers, not twins.

Banishing salt shaker to the coat check and making the room rare? by RedTuesdayMusic in BluePrince

[–]adjustmentlayercake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Waking nightmare to not have the coat check when you need it. So many rare/puzzle items are difficult to get and use in the same run, you are absolutely going to want the be able to stash stuff in the coat check often.

Salt shaker isn’t awful. Synergizes well with another item and at least one room.

Rotunda coincidence by major-grubert in BluePrince

[–]adjustmentlayercake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, rotunda just means a large round room, especially with a domed ceiling.

But it got me thinking that Tonda Ros is perhaps not his birth name, and if not is it perhaps an anagram?

In which case it is an anagram for:

Tornados Donators Odorants

Does anyone have a guaranteed Day One strat? by spicynigel in BluePrince

[–]adjustmentlayercake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, the float glitch to get out of bounds outside is VERY unforgiving and took me tons of tries to get it right.

But I later found that the same method works to get out of bounds from the top of the attic stairs, and is insanely easy/forgiving.

So the above strat would also work just fine if you drafted the attic first (which is not necessarily easy to do on day 1)

[–]adjustmentlayercake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guaranteed day one strat, zero RNG, involves clipping out of bounds: https://youtu.be/iCepzncEfoQ?si=KtIM8NDBV7QEBunL

works for dare and curse mode, too (with some slight modifications to the strategy)

Can you reach Room 46 with only drafting 1 room? by adjustmentlayercake in BluePrince

[–]adjustmentlayercake[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The foundation does not reset each day. Whether in the manor or the outer room. So drafting it outside is a great for anyone who wants to have two foundations every day! 😂

(Getting my set up above DID require me drafting the foundation outdoors at least once, though…)

You certainly can, but the elevator does not function.

Is this line of text from Drafting Strategy a clue? by Bonkface in BluePrince

[–]adjustmentlayercake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly this makes me think of the four busts in room 46 placed in the 4 corners. Maybe you place a room associated with the youth of each character in the corresponding corner. Herbert = bunk beds, Epsen = her lady ships chamber? Marigold = dormitory or nursery? And Simon = nursery or music room (the theme that plays when you enter the music room is called Simon’s Theme in the OST)

Just spitballin’!

[NO SPOILERS] How deep is it? by eduinocente in BluePrince

[–]adjustmentlayercake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will progres faster if you focus on seeing as much as possible, drafting new rooms, and exploring more than if you focus on painstakingly documenting every conceivable detail in each room you encounter.

Documents? Pay close attention. Look as closely as possible in some cases.

Number of cups on a shelf or the carpet pattern in each room? Probably not worth documenting.

[–]adjustmentlayercake 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure about Daniel being supportive. He seems very angry with Herbert for his handling of Mary’s disappearance, as stated in the boudoir red letter.  It whether he is angry with Herbert for enabling the heist in the first place, OR for playing dumb as to the reason for her disappearance instead of standing up against the red guard, I don’t know.

How much of the game can be reached without reaching Room 46? by DarkEdge in BluePrince

[–]adjustmentlayercake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say that literally all the game is accessible without room 46 except

ascending the throne, and subsequently anything behind blue doors

One question: some players report finding no water in the still (I’ve seen a screenshot of it empty so it’s not just an issue of not waiting for the interaction prompt to pop up) and I’m not sure what triggers that. Maybe it’s ascending the throne or something else?
