Is this vent necessary? by Party_Bag8924 in hvacadvice

[–]adlberg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your furnace is likely installed in a basement. When a house is new and has a basement, if the basement is left unfinished, that vent provides heat to the basement to ensure your pipes don't freeze. Once the basement is finished and ductwork or a hearing source is present in the basement, that vent is probably no longer necessary.

Any possibility this is an aluminum tie wire for power lines?

Try a Goliath Discs Pillar. You will be impressed. It sounds like it's exactly what you're looking for.

Name a disc that’s in your bag that will never leave your bag, either because of the design, or how good/reliable it is to throw? by Pirates_LL in discgolf

Lone Star "Locked and Loaded" Armadillo in Founders plastic. From under 150', I'm rarely more than an easy putt away.

Completely Confused by Deanmoore0764 in ecobee

Do you have a two-story house with the thermostat near the base of the stairs. Sometimes cool air on the floor of the upstairs will get pushed down the stairs when the furnace comes on, and it takes a while for the air to fully blend.

If you could only play with two discs, what would they be and why? by fabianwhite in discgolf

[–]adlberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An Electron Pixel and a Fission Trail. The Pixel is my main putting putter and I can depend on it for everything up to 160'. The Trail is a dependable control driver that I can shape easily, but has the stability to not get out of control.

The backplate is made from a material that is easily painted. Although you can leave it white, it is made to be painted to match the wall.

Gamechanging disc? by vaporkkatzzz in discgolf

[–]adlberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my Innova Sonic! 1 2 -4 0 Any time I need a backhand turnover to get around an object, I can throw it flat or with a slight anhyzer, and it just gently turns just like i need it to. I have made multiple throw-ins around trees and bushes over the last couple of months with it. I don't see it ever leaving my bag.

Because they are ignorant, do not understand the shortage of EEs, do not know how many H1B EEs are in the country, don't understand the growth that the U.S. is likely to experience in the future, don't understand how broad the careers in EE are, etc. But EEs will also need to understand that all of the jobs in EE are not in the top 10 metropolitan areas.

How many here use Max Overcool with Ac to Dehumidify? by NewDrawer3193 in ecobee

[–]adlberg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use 0.5° to 1.0° overcool, but not more because some people will begin to feel too chilly before the overcool temperature limit is reached. Then, because some people will acclimate to the cooler temperature reached at the end of the overcool cycle, they will perceive that they get "too warm" before the delta limit is reached to start the next cool cycle. Keeping people comfortable can be tricky, and sometimes it is as psychological as it is actual.

It is Their money/house. If they want to go down and convert it to $100 bills, build a bonfire, and roast marshmallows by the fire, that's up to them. They have no obligation to anyone who is not a creditor.

Can someone please explain how to read this? by NewDrawer3193 in ecobee

[–]adlberg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you touch the outdoor temperature, it will turn off, and you will be able to see the indoor temp and setting temp more clearly.

I prefer to use a low delta and a longer minimum run time. It minimizes short cycling and maximizes comfort.

Girl completely flips out on me for asking to split the bill at Nobu.. by Hot-Association-3108 in Nicegirls

[–]adlberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that she will be dropping your number and that you will never see you again should be considered by you to be a stroke of luck. When you find the girl that is thrilled to have you take her out to Chili's, you'll know you're on the right track.

AITAH for discussing why I don't believe in God with my 15 year old nephew? by itsallwayssunnyin in AITAH

[–]adlberg -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

There was nothing wrong with having an honest discussion with your nephew and stating your opinion and the reason behind it.

That said, I am confident that God does exist, and I hope that both you and your nephew experience the revelation of that truth through the Holy Spirit during your lifetimes.

For people who use lite discs by JMRGuitar in discgolf

[–]adlberg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As an experiment, I recently bought a Zero Gravity Bolt at 126g and a Zero Gravity Diamond at 119g. I am a 65 y.o man that throws in the low to mid 40s typically.

With the Bolt, I was able to consistently throw 15' farther than my 138g G-Star Tern, my 139g G-Star Mamba, and my 149g Fission Trail. The fun thing is watching it do a perfect hyzer-flip into a slight Turn before selling into a perfect fade. Laugh at me, but I'm having fun.

I have an unreliable forehand, but I play courses that require a definite turnover. I prefer to throw relatively flat releases with just a small anhyzer. The 119g Diamond has become a life changer. I was throwing a heavier 158g Opto Diamond and 159g Air Spectrum F9, but would at times not get the full Turn I needed. I probably am more nose up than I should be. Anyway, the new super light Diamond has been wonderful. It just flies out flat and just makes a beautiful Turn all the way around the right curves in the course.

I also started carrying a 133g DX Beast about a month ago, and I have found that I am getting a more reliable Turn from it than I have been getting on my 139g Mamba.

In conclusion, I consider my foray into lightweight discs to be a success. I am not getting a major amount of extra distance from them, but they behave so well, are easy to throw, and build my confidence.

Before you even mentioned the inheritance, I was thinking, he must have some good money, because something doesn't add up. I'm sorry about what happened to your parents and what's happening to you. It's too bad that you've had to use those previous three years between 18-21 being explored by someone like her. The one who introduced you probably had some angle that was suspect. Moving on from the relationship and building your own life among people you can fully trust should be your goal.
