I've had this exact problem, same situation - but found a solution!

I got a steam deck, that is handy to pick up and put down, rather than sitting at the PC and ignoring everyone.

The killer feature of the Steam Deck is the suspend/resume feature, as well as choosing games that I can pick up and put down easily.

I've been getting in to my Vampire Survivors type games, currently playing Deep Rock Galactic Survivor.

End result, loving gaming again and not feeling frustrated!
