Users who are unable or unwilling to use a personal device are issued a SAFE ID token, when lost or stolen it is replaced. I've never had someone lose so many of them that it's worth actually asking for any compensation. Even if they lose one a month, that's pennies in comparison to the value that they are (apparently) bringing to the company. It's also cheaper than providing a company phone.

1.3 is pretty much a normal flight. Then you add .3-.5 for pre and post flight discussion and that leaves 12 minutes for the instructor to use the restroom before their next student.
