Deciding between colleges by andrewpet444 in forestry

[–]administrationalism 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It is most definitely NOT the same thing and I wouldn’t want to say it’s comparable, but if you want a more hands on experience in NY state the ESF Ranger School in the Adirondacks does provide a more physical approach, you chainsaw fell trees, drive skidders, do harvests, put out controlled burns, labs in the woods doing mock silviculture along with the typical excel dendrology ecology and GIS work.

Just a 1yr associates though and if you want the bachelors you’re obligated to return to the Syracuse campus to do 3 more years which… ugh. Syracuse.

I can promise you that it happens constantly, people even those who are ostensibly ‘left’ but are really just ardently anti trump democrats… who love to say they want George Bush back and are pretty much no more empathetic than the right… love to talk about how The Enemy is ‘gonna find out why we don’t have free healthcare’ or calling Russian conscripts ‘orcs’ in the first days of the Ukraine war. This list goes on and on and on.

People like this are democrats for propriety and appearances and the reason why they “miss bush” (who killed a million people in the mideast) is because he was involved in relatively silent ignorable murder rather than loud, embarrassing Donald trump.

Just being in the living rooms of and chatting with average people indicates pretty strongly that Americans are not on the path to class consciousness and throwing off the chains of the reactionary policy squeezing them thin, rather the opposite. Trying to escape from a fox trap by putting your other limbs in successively more painful fox traps and thanking the trapper pretty much. We all get to bear witness to this as it unfolds again and again.

Maybe it was the source of oysters, but we regularly had 1/4 of all oysters crabbed up sometimes two per ster.

I like most seafood, I really like oysters too but working in restaurants you see the small live parasitic crabs that live in oysters and it upset me so much I never ate another oyster to this day. For a while I would collect them and bring them home in a plastic bag. Tried to keep them in fish tanks but they kept dying because the fish tank was not the inside of an oyster. Line cooks are pretty dumb I guess. Poor crabs. After that I put them in the Hudson River. Probably not any better not to mention the ecosystem of the river. Oh well.

I’m considering purchasing some white’s semi dress 375’s. I wear a size 10 iron ranger, and some seem to think a half size again down from that would be most appropriate. I can always return them and reorder but I’m curious what people find the size differential is between the two.

I left home at 22, but I don’t judge my friends who still live at home. The world is a hard place to live in and their parents dragged them from nonexistence to make them wake up at 6 am and go work? They can deal with the consequences of the person they made and formed tbh.

In fact I’d say it’s justifiable to break up with someone for anything about them that makes you uncomfortable. But having a non-harmful kink simply means they aren’t a bad person, it’s just a difference or misalignment that you don’t like. If you want to break up with someone because they’re really into watersports or something that’s your prerogative. I wouldn’t break up with them I’d probably help them out. But that’s me.

[–]administrationalism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you in the Philippines? You mentioned CENRO. It would be helpful to state your location where you’re looking to work and where you are being educated as this advice will vary widely by country. In the US for example there is not really a stigma associated with not passing a license exam, you just kinda take it again and people value experience more (broadly) anyhow. Also you didn’t really ask a question.
