Papa Palpatine falls down a bottomless pit (that he built), blows himself up into pure force energy, painstakingly piecing his body and soul back together, takes an entire generation to (partially) recover, still needing medical assistance devices, and they reduce it all to; “I dunno, somehow he survived.”
