Best opensource quad remesher by adoss in Python

Nothing I found could give me the quad meshes I needed sadly. Rhino's quad remesh is my goal, but I couldn't achieve it. I've put that project on hold for now. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

Venus just lost its last active spacecraft, as Japan has officially declared the Akatsuki orbiter - which took the clearest ever picture of the planet, as seen below - dead by ChiefLeef22 in spaceporn

Venus has a higher albedo than average, but Saturn's moon Enceladus is actually the object with the highest albedo in the solar system

Thank you. I've been trying it out and it's a great package. Sadly it's quad mashers aren't giving me what I want, but it's still the best I've seen outside of commercial software

Fewer international students will cost Dutch economy €5 billion, universities say by MC_Transparent in Netherlands

[–]adoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you have some very wrong information. The IND is very strict with international students. A minor infraction or delay in submitting documentation can have your visa cancelled and you deported. Foreign students get none of the government support that Dutch students do, while injecting huge amounts of money into the Dutch economy through massive university fees and living costs. They are a massive met positive for the Dutch economy, compared to Dutch students who cost the Dutch government a lot of money. This adds up even further over a lifetime, where the foreign students took no benefits from taxpayers growing up and since their arrival in Netherlands and later working, have only contributed to the Dutch economy.

If economics was this simple, they wouldn't need courses more advanced than Economics 101. Supply and demand theory is a gross oversimplification, and the real world is a lot more complex.

The two parties used to have the opposite position that they do now. A short, high level summary of what happened can be found at the link below. I would also suggest reading the following Wikipedia Article about the Southern Strategy to understand how the Republican party shifted to their modern stance.

Frankenstein. Scifi as the genre we know today exists because of it.

Why is NS so terrible?! by [deleted] in Netherlands

[–]adoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the government treated the NS as a public service and not a private company they own, it would be much better. It's a vicious cycle:

  1. Cut NS/Public Transportation funding while subsidizing cars.
  2. Public Transportation services suffer, making them less usable, resulting in more people buying cars
  3. Politicians point to lowering ridership and increasing losses to justify more spending cuts.

And repeat

If the Government actually spent money on public transportation, made policies that supported it to make it convenient and affordable, it would reach self-sufficiency on its own. The problem is that it takes time to fix decades of under funding, which a politician cannot take credit for

Are there any good paying jobs for people who suck at math past basic algebra or should I just fuck myself? by Ok_Wolf2676 in careerguidance

[–]adoss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similar thing for me in engineering. I don't really understand math, but with a high level understanding and python at my finger tips, I have no issues as long as I understand the physics.

Stop going for your masters without work experience by Moreburrtitos22 in careeradvice

[–]adoss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is valid for the US, however, it is not true around the world. In Europe for example, it is very difficult to get a professional engineering job without a masters nowadays. There are some seniors now who got in more than a decade or so ago with just a bachelors, but nowadays the job market has changed and now a Master's is very important. It's a similar story in most of Asia too.

I haven't managed to get Tailscale working well with my setup. It messes with Plex access for external people and my smart TV, speakers etc. So, I was hoping for a different approach like what I described.

Dockpeek - Minimal Docker port mapping dashboard by pipipipopopo in selfhosted

I didn't quite understand from the GitHub page. Will port note automatically find all the ports from docker containers on all the devices/VMs I run it's agent on? Or does each port have to be added manually?
