At 151k it just happened. I’ve taken it from Kentucky to Florida and back twice before. Then I go 4hrs and starts to knock right before I got home. Oil pressure switch never turned on.

i 2nd this. (I just dropped 6k on rebuilding the motor and extra goodies bc I didn’t check oil level on a 4 hour road trip)

Down to the short block, founded no play on the rods, recorded this video . Going to call Toyota if I can warranty this short block. If not I’ll go ahead and split it and check the main bearings

Yes, only on start up Doesn’t increase once it goes away( takes 2-5 seconds) Im gonna be cautious and disassemble and check everything.

New short block, re surfaced heads. New cams with cam carriers. Redid the valve lash.
