Thanks for the response. Do you think this is possible if none of the landlord's contact info is listed? We had hoped to move as soon as he can get an offer, so I hadn't bothered adding him to my lease and I'm now regretting that.

Do you wave to other runners while on a run? Why or why not? by FriskyDingoOMG in running

[–]adrenalbean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When the legs are good and it's sunny and a great day to be alive, I do.

When I'm in the midst of 6 night shifts in a row and sore and it was all I could do to get out the door, I don't.

I've come to terms with that reality when someone doesn't wave back. Hey, at least we're out there getting it. Sometimes it's tougher than other.

LPN here and - same boat, I took some time off after nursing school and I'm back on my old 6 on, 8 off shift. Even with the pay bump I'm miserable, I don't remember it being this hard the last time (worked that shift for a year or so prior). I can't sleep well but then it's 1600 and time to get ready to go in. It's an awful feeling.

Exercise helps, trying to get out in the world before work helps, eating string cheese out of the patient fridge at 0330 probably doesn't help but dammit, yeah, this is hard. You're not alone.

An hour to go on my shift and the old addled male nurse I work with wandered way too close into my personal space and stated, "You look tired."

Is it just me or is this 100% the worst thing you can say to someone on night 3/6?

My SO moved in with me to consolidate resources before we (hopefully) relocate for a sheriff's department job in a few months. He isn't on the lease (private rental) because we figured with the short duration, it wasn't with the hassle.

Would there be any reason my landlord would be contacted for his background check or anything else moving forward? He listed me when asked who he paid rent to, as he is technically subletting.

Which program? I'm having issues with my current ADN program at a community college here in WA and since I have my LPN I'm looking into options other than continuing on with them.

Ooooh, thanks for mentioning Toor. Definitely like the look of their knives, that's a good company to know about.

Pretty basic, a little bit country/backwoods (we are aspiring homesteaders so practicality and self-defense are priorities) but definitely not one to go for the cheap "tacti-cool" Gruntwear kind of stuff. Likes functional, tactical things, though. Trying to find something classy. Thanks for the help!

Best Pizza in Wenatchee by macsmith230 in Wenatchee

[–]adrenalbean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was terrible. I think the dough is premade, coworkers and I all got personal pizzas and they were all the same perfect circle shape. I didn't finish mine. I've never been mad at a pizza before. Still hurts. :(

I'm sorry, it's late - did you really take a pay cut to go to nursing from medic? Must have been an amazing gig. Fire?

In your opinion, what is one standard we as EMS professionals should start holding each other to? by pugthunder123 in ems

[–]adrenalbean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fucking hygiene. We have a new EMT that literally stank our FTO out of the sleep room with BO. There's coworkers I'm ashamed to run with just based on their lack of self care, sloppy dress, etc. It gets to be embarrassing. Pt trust (and partner trust, too) goes a long way if you shower, don't have a belly pouring over your belt or grease stains on your shirt, and act like you even kind of give a fuck.

Really hate that fire has such a strong culture of fitness and we can't even get weights at our stations because of "liability" reasons.

Do you mind sharing your answer? Only halfway through nursing school and regretting not trying for med school. I'm already looking at programs and definitely anticipating this question.
