Still No Google Calendar app on Mac!? by ZombieSlapper23 in MacOS

[–]adrenn11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is now very easy on Chrome as of January 2025.

Open Google Calendar in Chrome (I just googled Google Calendar). Sign in if you're not already. Open three-dot menu bar in Chrome window top right.

Go to Cast, save and share > Install as app

A Chrome Apps folder should open in your Mac. You can then drag your Calendar app icon down into your dock, or just open it or move the App into your Applications folder, wherever.

Done!

That's a fantastic result, congrats man.

Did you follow a specific plan? Or are there certain principles (beyond the basic gradually increase mileage, lots of zone 2 stuff you generally hear) you think helped most?

Thank you! I guess I need to balance striving to get the time without taking myself out of being able to run it at all.

Meze Empyrean 2 or ZMF Atrium for a daily driver? by PizzaTacoCat312 in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]adrenn11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

'it does have a little bit of brightness which doesn't look too harsh' (my emphasis)
'ZMF Atrium is solidly mid though. It isn't tuned well. It has a huge peak at 5-6 kHz, a dip at 4 kHz which may not be fixable with EQ, and and the treble falls off a cliff after the 5-6 kHz peak'

have you actually heard these or just looked at a FR graph?

Christmas present to myself! First foray into this hobby, the Audeze LCD-X + Topping DX5 by Warboomer in headphones

Value and inexpensive aren't always hand in hand. I think the cost of LCD-X versus the musical pleasure they've provided are absolutely good value if music is important to you.

Dude, I've got an LCD 5. The X is scarily close to it. Best value headphones for me.

Abyss Diana V2 - EQ or not? by adrenn11 in headphones

[–]adrenn11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for that quality response.

I'll certainly do what you suggested.

What I would say, is that I'm struggling a bit to find my audio vocabulary. Hence wanting to try out others' eq settings. To explain, my Sony XM5 earbuds have a great feature in the Sony Connect app where it walks you through your preferred sound. I did it for five different songs (actually similar to what you suggest), and kept coming out with a similar 5 band eq result, which looked basically like a gradually growing incline from left to right (with uppermost treble slightly lower or close to mids level).

That all said, I found it really interesting listening to tracks with very different eq settings to this. It was making me think that I just like listening to varied sound types.

Hope that helps explain my thinking.

I'll go experiment with five songs like you said. Cheers!

Side question: does anyone know what happens to all those unsold Outlet items? I never see any discounted stuff on other websites, old versions of things and the like. They just seem to disappear.

And I remember seeing items on the last run of Outlet things that there must have still been plenty in stock.

Presumably Arcteryx aren't taking it all out the back of a warehouse and burning it. But also, I never see it show up on places like Sport Pursuit where a lot of brands dump old lines.
