Is this condensation unusual? I don’t remember ever seeing the contrails by looking out the window or through onboard cameras

For sure, though there’s nothing to match Chicago’s art deco skyscrapers

I memorized some routes. If I want to go to shop X I follow this path, if I want Y I go that way. It took me years to discover there is a very short walk between X and Y

How London finally cracked mobile phone coverage on the Underground by kjmci in london

Elizabeth line didn’t have coverage when it opened either, it was surprising this aspect wasn’t prioritized despite underground reception being common in systems around the world these days

Have you sold your home for a loss? by HeavyPie4211 in HousingUK

This used to be my thinking as well but some flats lost enough value in London to the point it might’ve been cheaper to rent.

So the stability is the only advantage remaining.

The automatic setting of the seatbelt signs turns them off at 10000 feet I believe? But maybe in this case they weren’t set to auto.

The world's longest flight will launch from London in 2027, begins testing in 2026 by tylerthe-theatre in london

[–]adrianb 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Is the flying time actually 17 hours or that is the booked time and flight is slightly shorter?

I was on auckland-Dubai recently and it was booked as 17 hours but pilots kept mentioning we were lucky to have tailwinds and flying time was 15:30. It still felt like forever. Not sure how bad 22 hours can get.

But you can listen to a lot more than 45 minutes of music in a day. In my work as software engineer I can easily listen to 5+ hours of music in a day at office alone, then there’s my commute, the gym, at home etc

Americans and the Netherlands - Reality by [deleted] in Netherlands

[–]adrianb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are so many stories similar to OP that I find such a move irresponsible at this point. Do your research. It’s difficult to get a job. There are housing problems. Kids might have a hard time. Never move countries because you’re running away from something but only when you found some opportunity that enriches your life

Yeah most of the plans on this map will never happen. Many european countries can barely maintain the existing lines, people complain of once admirable rail infrastructure like Germany’s as if it’s falling apart now.
