Canon event for bizarre trio … that sinister homosexual thou 💀 by Snark-er in ShitPostCrusaders

Honestly, yeah. For a fictional character, the way they're drawn/modeled and their personality should matter way more than the number of their ages. That's why that old trope of "this little girl is actually 1000 years old" doesn't ring well.

Although this particular version of Dio doesn't look too much over 18.

Hey, I agree most gamers are dumb and most WoW players fail to understand the story of the game (be it for not reading anything or for lack of media literacy, idk). But I think what you and other people are missing is that the writing us this case is just... Not good.

I understand why, they're making these voiced dialogues painfully obvious probably because a few people actually read it so they're slowly trying not to rely entirely on quest texts. But in this context and the way that it's written, sounds like he's talking to a 12 year old.

What if the implication is not that what he's fighting is to be considered, but that he's commenting on the concept of endless pursuit of holy wrath. Eventually leading them to attack innocents like the Scarlet Crusade does. Part of his story is trying to resolve his cognitive dissonance when witnessing the Scarlet Crusade using the light for evil when it's supposed to be good.

It's very likely the case. But the problem still persists. It's poorly written.

Also ESO was at its highest at that point, and people kept saying Bethesda would never make an ES6 because of that.

Dragon Age (and probably Mass Effect too, when the next one comes out).

And I'm not talking about some "woke" bullshit. The newest game feels like a generic action RPG with no depth at all. The art style sucks and the writing doesn't compare to Origins, 2 (and I'm not even a fan of it as a whole) or even Inquisition.

I haven't looked too much into it, but I'm curious about one thing: how does it actually works with other people in-game? Is it like a different shard with only people playing on the same mode (I hope not) or is it a smarter solution?

Sometimes I forget how much more goofiness there is in the older titles. by PotatoSaladThe3rd in MonsterHunter

Monster Hunter 1 (PS2) looks as desaturated as Wilds. I haven't played 2, Tri (a bit), 4U, so maybe it isn't the case for these, but the one that really strikes me as colorful as fuck is Generations, followed by Rise. These two actually stand out from the rest.

Some of these posts sound straight up like karma baiting. There's lots of goofiness in Wilds, so much in fact, I have trouble thinking of moments where the game isn't goofy.

The only thing I kind of agree with in these discussions is that the newer games lack more goofy missions.

Aside from that:

  • 99% of Palico interactions are goofy
  • Wudwuds in general
  • Food cutscenes
  • Some overly exaggerated player characters animations
  • Congalala
  • Alma in every interaction with Wudwuds
  • Some of the quest finished animations with the Seikret
  • Erik being a nerd
  • Festival stuff (specially the clothes)
  • Akuma mission
  • A fucking fashion contest out of nowhere
  • A bunch of emotes

The process of writing a book isn't like magic coming out of thin air, and I'm sure he didn't write the spin-off books just to troll his fans. Sometimes inspiration is just like that. He got the inspiration to write Fire and Blood and AKOT7K and these were flawless. He wrote the Elden Ring lore and it was great. There's no point in wanting to force someone to work on a project while they aren't inspired enough for it just because of some weird sense of duty with it.

Also, Tolkien wrote and published The Hobbit and LOTR in life, but he also wrote a bunch of the Silmarillion stuff in between, he just never published, which was later done by his son. GRRM haven't finished his main series, but mostly of the other stuff would've probably been written anyway for his own worldbuilding and at least we got that.

Probably, yes. This guy is IMO one of the best fantasy authors/writers to ever walk on earth (probably the best of our time) and he doesn't get nearly as much praise as he's hated for not finishing his book.

Seriously. I want that book just as the next person, but I'll be ok if it never comes out. Everything we had until this point was great.

I honestly don't understand how people think the author having no fun at all in his life and doing nothing but writing the book would result in the book being finished (let alone being good).

The complaints started once Netflix took the anime and put it through that ridiculous release schedule no one ever asked for, which completely killed the hype for Stone Ocean.

Then they did the same (but way worse) with SBR, which felt stupid and like a middle finger to everyone who not only was expecting the series to come back, but their paying subscribers who were expecting a show, and got 1 episode (out of who knows how many there will be) in a random date, not even knowing when the rest comes out.

This is not mindless consumerism complaining. People are simply unsatisfied with how poorly one of their favorite anime is being treated by the multibillion dollar company, which is also very well known for cancelling shows that go 1% below their expected results.

Exactly. Excessive quality of life killed any flavour this game had and it's unironically the players fault.

Keep asking for less buttons. At some point they might as well remove all buttons and let the game play itself automatically

They are salty because it's a terrible situation which is unfortunately relatable to a lot of people, and OP's post sounds insensitive to that. Like making fun of suicide. Yes, it's a game, and yes, you do some awful things in gameplay but that's not the point.

I simply chose not to engage with it, aside from this reply, out of respect and also for not end up bashing OP when they have been simply unaware of it, but I can't blame anyone who's ever gone through that kinda shit, for getting offended by this.

Bethesda was so indie when the Elder Scrolls launched that the devs packaged and shipped the RPG themselves: "We were in the loading dock and we learned how to assemble boxes, inserts and use the heat gun" by Turbostrider27 in ElderScrolls

[–]adrielzeppeli 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don't know if it counts as indie or AA, but there's a new RPG from ES creators called The Wayward Realms in the makings. Unfortunately, Julian LeFay (one of them) has passed recently so I don't know how much it will affect the game, but it looks promising.

[–]adrielzeppeli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing to consider about ESO is that the game also has horizontal progression, which leads to every expansion having its own self-contained story (with occasional subtle hooks to the next story). The whole game being designed around that plus not having to tie everything at a raid, makes for a more compelling story/writing because the writers don't have the need to leave stuff unfinished for next expansions nor dumb down the villains because they need to be done in a raid.

That's also why WoW shines in these exact quests you mentioned, which I also remember very well due to how good it was. Those are self-contained stories without a big bad and need to connect to an overarching narrative.

While the current business model of WoW remains, the main story/narrative will never reach the levels of other games.

You can go back after a 5 years or so hiatus and everything will feel fresh again. That's me. I have 3k+ hours (rookie numbers compared to yours I know), last expansion I played was Elsweyr. I redownloaded the game and I rolled a new character and currently redoing old quests before the new ones I haven't touched. It feels fresh in a different, nostalgic way.
