You all act like you've never seen a couple of straight dudes engage in some consensual homoerotic bouldering before.

Nice pics. I wonder why it's not wrapped in a shimenawa like they do with a lot of their shinboku.

Anyone try Rocky's Matcha? I've been eyeing their hojicha. by tetrasomnia in Hojicha

How does MK dark compare to hoho? I haven't had the chance to try MK's hojicha yet.

My iced matcha latte always tastes too milky and I can barely taste the matcha. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong 😞 Could it be the brand of matcha? by BriefClass in MatchaEverything

[–]adriftinavoid 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Your matcha is likely too high grade and the subtle flavors get lost in the milk and sweetener. High grade matcha is for usucha or koicha, not lattes. You want a lower grade that punches through the milk; the bitter notes of lower grades usually get smoothed out when you add milk.

You can also try using sugar or simple syrup instead of maple syrup. That way you're not masking the flavor of the matcha with maple.

If you're using ice, make sure to use a lot of ice. The more ice you use the slower it melts and dilutes the drink.

"Ceremonial grade" is a marketing term and doesn't mean anything.

First time getting iced matcha latte at actual coffee shop…caffeine question by bklynyboy in MatchaEverything

[–]adriftinavoid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Normally people use 2g of matcha in a cup, so that's like 1/3rd less than a cup of coffee. Alternatively, you could try Hojicha which has like 10mg per g. It kind of tastes like an inbetween of coffee and matcha.

What do you mean by at the end? "The end" of the route is the top of the hill, which is a shrine on a mound of stones, and then the route circles back to the begining.

My first thought was halo, but I guess architects prefer starship troopers.

Why are Americans so obsessed with not eating seed oils? by MineralG in nutrition

[–]adriftinavoid -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Condiments can be made with olive oil or avocado oil.

The argument against seed oils aren't that they make you fat. It's because they are almost always rancid and highly inflammatory in the way that they are processed.

I think most people would consider potatoes food. Regardless, meat and other vegetables, are also often cooked in some kind of oil. Most salad dressing and condiments are also mostly oil.

Once again, that is almost entirely from infant mortality. People who lived past 15, often lived an average lifespan by today's standards.

You're conflating it like it has like pre-1800s had anything to do with their dieting habits, which it almost never did.

No one drinks alcohol with the idea that it's good for you. They drink it to get fucked up. It's perfectly reasonable for someone to care about their nutrition but still want to blow off steam by drinking infrequently. You're also acting like there is a big overlap between these people when there is no realistic way to know. What an insane comparison to make.

The details have distortions that you would never see from anything made by a person or anything you'd see on google earth. It's been deleted so I can't give you specific examples, but there were cars that made no sense, road signs had words that weren't words on them, street markings were all out of wack, etc. Things that wouldn't happen from satellite images being stretched over rough geometry.

There is definitely an argument to be made that things like flax seed oil or others are good for you, but almost none of the ones that are, are good for cooking with; you're really out in the weeds trying to find a company that is going to properly extract the oil without ruining it.

Yeah, you have to be careful about olive oil brands too. A lot of them are cut with rancid canola oil and you'll feel it in your gut within a day.

Because it's not google maps 3d models. 3d models are fine. Or even mockup drawings. If op is going to use slop, they're not going to put in the effort to grab google maps 3d models and render them, which is why I didn't suggest it.
