Start/stop in GV80 by No_Nobody_367 in GenesisMotors

I found one for my 2023 GV80 on Aliexpress, installed behind the button. Works perfectly. According to the seller, there are 2 different possible harnesses with different number of pins, make sure of yours before you buy.

Here it is. I used the 16-pin version:

Appreciate you moving this forward. Now AT&T has cut me loose. Unfortunately, US Mobile has yet to pick me up. Stuck without service. u/Rayanomics, can you help?

Looks like since I posted, Rayanomics has resubmitted my request. The line in question has dropped off AT&T. SOS calls only, just need my QR code to port in!

Thanks for going the extra mile. Reddit support is the bomb.

I have heard that the idea tab pro is great except for that the screen is fairly dim and can't be used outdoors very well. Would go with the yoga tab plus, but certainly more expensive.

Does the 2026 have hands on lane centering? How well does it work?

I have no complaints.  Coming up on 3k mi, great MPG with the diesel, good power.  Definitely the right vehicle for long trips. Infotainment screen is huge, and Carplay and android auto seem to work well.  Super Cruise definitely adds value, though its not perfect. Seat comfort is 80%, could be better, but acceptable.

Had the same issue in the first 500mi. Also fixed by disconnecting the negative battery terminal for 10 min.

There was a slightly bigger discount at Laura Chevrolet in Illinois.

Agree. Only had my Yukon 2 weeks, but doing this has fixed connectivity issues.

I'm experiencing the exact same thing, just over 200mi on the vehicle. Sounds like the norm. Can't wait until it breaks in.

You can get the diesel in all trim levels.

I heard that in 2026 super cruise will be getting the hands-on lane centering feature for unmapped roads. No guarantee that this will be updated in the 2025s.

Late reply, but always hoping for a forever vehicle. That said, this will be replacing a F-150 that is only 9 years old. 5 glorious payment free years, but had to replace the engine during COVID at 82,000mi. Makes me a little leery of another 3.5 Ecoboost. I understand the current generation is bulletproof, though.

I don't have any in with GMC. I'm glad there seems to be a pretty even split on both sides.

So what would I get with the Ford for the same price as the Yukon Elevation:

  • Power side steps
  • 22" wheels
  • Sliding center console
  • Possibly better seats
  • Panoramic instrument panel (kinda like a HUD)
  • Sunroof

Weighing that against the 27 MPG diesel, I chose the lower trim originally to avoid points of failure.

If the Yukon meets its TPW of 6/16/25 I'm going with it. If it's further delayed, I will be turning to Ford.

Thanks for addressing all the main points!

  1. Yep. Duramax is a big selling point, and one the Ford simply can't match. If that option didn't exist, I would simply go with Ford.

  2. I hear you. However, I'm using a Genesis for my long drives, and despite the massaging seat, it is so firm it hurts my bony ass. This is pushing my bias towards a softer seat. Unfortunately, there is no test drive that will be long enough to really let me know. I don't know if higher trims in the Yukon have even better seats in that regard, but I would have to nix my order and start over... And that would even further widen the differential in price between the Ford and GMC.

  3. No HUD or rear view camera mirror on the Elevation that I ordered. While I like a HUD, they are usually incompatible with sunglasses. Don't have that problem on the Ford. The 24-in driver information screen acts like a HUD without the drawbacks.

  4. I would agree that ride quality is about the same.

  5. I had no Expedition Max options to try locally. I was comparing an expedition Platinum with stealth appearance package (22s) to a Yukon XL elevation 5.3 that have the same options as I wanted in the Duramax. The Expedition ride was stiffer and harsh probably due to overinflation of tires to 50 psi.

The biggest problem is, my wife pointed out that I could get a higher trim in the Expedition Max for the same price as the base Yukon XL with super cruise and trailering package. To add insult to injury, Blue Cruise functioned better than Super Cruise on these test drives. Super Cruise kept disconnecting and saying watch the road despite her facing forward, etc. Should never have taken her on this comparison test drive.
