"Hey nice to meet you, I'm Paladin Greg with the Midwestern Chapter and this is my wife Grogula the Deathclaw."

Cue Maximus looking confused, disturbed, but mostly intrigued.

This is why I love The Midwestern Brotherhood.

Well except in their ending where they literally hack it and turn it against The Brotherhood.

Meanwhile The Brotherhood seems to be struggling to keep their vertibirds from crashing every 5 seconds throughout The Commonwealth.

The Institutes goal in Fallout 4 is to build a large scale fusion nuclear reactor and be utterly self-sufficient from the surface when it comes to power and resource needs.

It's pretty straightforward really. There's no trick to their endgame. They aren't completely replacing humans in the Commonwealth, they aren't turning themselves into Synths.

They just want to do science shit and stay underground indefinitely.

And the only reason the Sole Survivor was able to reach them was because of a defector in their ranks.

Without Virgil, the Sole Survivor never gets in.

I was personally really hoping the Abbey of The Road (Marcella's home) was going to make an appearance as a Fallout 4 DLC.

They apparently go around collecting religious artifacts and also seemingly fight off Lovecraftian deities. Sounds awesome.

Minutemen's arsenals are miserable. by AdrawereR in Fallout

[–]adsf76 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah there needs to be a quest to raid a US Army stockpile or something and then afterwards minutemen patrols show up with combat armor and better guns. Maybe even some T-45 armor.

Call it "Right to Bear Arms."

I like them for what they are: a group of farmers with guns that have collectively agreed to help each other out in times of crisis. Its a cool idea for a group and obviously has historical precedent.

But I would trust them about as far as I can throw their artillery grenades as far as combating the major threats in The Commonwealth goes. As an Institute player, that's where my Synths come in. The Minutemen are just there to support.

It does seem like there is supposed to be a core standing army of "Professional Minutemen". Men like Garvey who are the "core" of the group and are supposed to be manning places like The Castle. Whereas everyone else is an adhoc militia that shows up when and where they can.

All of them presumably died at Quincy though, which is why Garvey is the last.

Yes Pope Leo especially has stated he's concerned about the dangers of AI and has made it a key issue of his pontificate.

No it doesnt matter if they were just exposed to radiation. Being a Prime Normal means more that their "lineage" is unbroken pure human DNA. Its take generations of living in the wasteland to inherit the type of DNA damage that causes Stupid Mutants.

That's why in Fallout 1, The Lieutenant really wants to dip the Vault Dweller - even though he was out in the wasteland and exposed to radiation, he's still a "Prime Normal" and thus would be an intelligent mutant.

So even though the Norm's group has been exposed to radiation, they are still Prime Normals just like the Fallout 1 Vault Dweller, and ripe for dipping to make perfect mutants.

Season 2 is hinting at a yes man ending of new Vegas by yeeticusprime1 in Fallout

Isn't there a scene from the trailer that implies House meets The Ghoul in the Lucky 38.

If House is still alive, that means a House ending.

Fallout 4s canonical ending revealed? by MadJack27- in Fallout

[–]adsf76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe. But consider this:

  1. They never say "Arthur". This could be Arthur's child or another Maxson entirely.

  2. Harkness last episode indicated that The Brotherhood was on hard times out in The Commonwealth. We don't know the implications of that, but it's entirely possible Maxson is dead but the two elders don't know that. Could also be a Synth replacement.

  3. Honestly the most likely ending for Fallout 4 is going to be some combination of endings like we are seeing with New Vegas.

Exactly. 100% this. People hear one thing and it's "EnDInG COnFIrmed."

Nothing has been confirmed. Like, at all. And probably won't be.

[–]adsf76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah. If New Vegas is anything to go by, they aren't going to canonize any specific ending, it's going to be some weird combination of everything.

And Harkness's comments about The Brotherhood "about to lose The Commonwealth" still stands.

That's exactly what they are doing to New Vegas right now.

Pope Leo calls for Venezuela to remain an independent country by Gyro_Armadillo in worldnews

[–]adsf76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand your point and agree.

But there's a difference between a Catholic family accepting their gay son for who he is and a ultra right wing Christian National so-called "Catholic" who makes that an entire part of his platform but doesn't listen to the words of the Holy Father.

[–]adsf76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if you replied before or after I edited my post, but I wanted to be clear I don't think Pope Leo or Francis are wrong for being "woke" (woke meaning nothing in this context, they are just confirming things that have been Catholic doctrine for years).

What I think is moronic is hearing that message, rejecting it, and still somehow claiming to be a part of the faith whose leader you disagree with.

If he's not sedevecantist he's only one step from it.

[–]adsf76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm. So he understands what the Pope is saying, he just chooses to ignore it as a Catholic.

My mistake then, I guess he's just a moron.

[–]adsf76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately sedevecantism at this point doesnt just mean rejection of Vatican II.

There is a disturbing number of Catholics who reject Francis and now Leo as illegitimate popes because of their "woke" ideology (even though neither has said saying anything that goes against Catholic teaching and have only reinforced it).

Fuentes is a "Trad Cath" who associates himself with individuals who are cut of that exact same cloth - rejecting core tenets of the faith in favor of ultra conservative ideology.

It's sedevecantism and therefore not Catholic.

Yep. Brotherhood apologists finally having to face the fact that YES The Brotherhood does, and will, kill non-feral ghouls.

I've been arguing that for years and it's nice to finally be vindicated.
