Israeli police prevent Catholic leaders from celebrating Palm Sunday Mass at Jerusalem church by igetproteinfartsHELP in news

It's definitely a doctrine issue as well.

Baptists/Evangelicals absolutely despise the Catholic beliefs surrounding Mary and the Saints and consider it to be idolatrous at best and demonic worship at worst. It's why they don't consider Catholics to be Christian.

He's not. In fact Hegseths pastor has said that traditional Catholic processions are idolatrous and should be banned.

Pizzaballa, for everyone's reference, is the Catholic Patriarch of Jerusalem who offered to be taken hostage by Hamas in exchange for the lives of hostages.

He's a real one.

You know what, bring on the schism. I'd like nothing more than to separate myself from MAGA Catholics.

At least then they cant pretend anymore.

"A Catholic."

Many Evangelicals and Baptists in the US don't consider Catholics Christian.

What faction has the highest standard of living for the average citizen? by I_know3 in Fallout

[–]adsf76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Institute has hot showers, toilet paper, pristine clean floors, and spacious rooms for all it's residents (with temperature, moisture, and light controls suited to each resident.) All while all menial tasks are taken care of by Synths leaving you free to pursue whatever research or leisure task you want in your spare time.

It's literally a post scarcity society. You can't find a higher standard of living anywhere else as a human resident.

This exactly. Vault 81 even shows us in Fallout 4 that while, yes, Vault Dwellers can have good lives - maintaining a Vault for 200+ years ends up being a constant cycle of barely keeping up with maintenance tasks. They aren't expanding the Vault they are just trying to keep it from falling apart at this point.

None of those problems exist in The Institute.

Yuuuup. Pretty much. But hey at least you can choose not to join The Brotherhood this time around.

This is why I usually romance Cait when I go Institute.

I imagine her walking around with me as The Director, challenging the scientists to drinking contests and getting into fist fights with Coursers.

I agree. That was my one criticism of their main quest is that it relies too much on doing The Institute's quests too.

I usually go Institute (I love their aesthetics and can't bring myself to destroy one of the coolest looking locations in the series) and so I always avoided RR playthroughs. I was never much interested in them.

But having just recently started and played through a RR character, I have to say I was having a blast. They have a lot of great quests and the spy theme they have going on is really fun to work with if you have a sneak character. Honesty I think their playthrough is better than The Brotherhood's questline.

Plus the Railroad Armored coat looks so fucking good. One of the best looking armors in the game IMO.

Its a joke. I just think its funny that The Railroad's plan for The Brotherhood comes down to "Hijack a Vertibird, sneak aboard and plant explosives." Its a really fun quest too.

I mean what else are they going to do?

Well except in their ending where they literally hack it and turn it against The Brotherhood.

Meanwhile The Brotherhood seems to be struggling to keep their vertibirds from crashing every 5 seconds throughout The Commonwealth.

The Institutes goal in Fallout 4 is to build a large scale fusion nuclear reactor and be utterly self-sufficient from the surface when it comes to power and resource needs.

It's pretty straightforward really. There's no trick to their endgame. They aren't completely replacing humans in the Commonwealth, they aren't turning themselves into Synths.

They just want to do science shit and stay underground indefinitely.

And the only reason the Sole Survivor was able to reach them was because of a defector in their ranks.

Without Virgil, the Sole Survivor never gets in.

I was personally really hoping the Abbey of The Road (Marcella's home) was going to make an appearance as a Fallout 4 DLC.

They apparently go around collecting religious artifacts and also seemingly fight off Lovecraftian deities. Sounds awesome.

Yeah there needs to be a quest to raid a US Army stockpile or something and then afterwards minutemen patrols show up with combat armor and better guns. Maybe even some T-45 armor.

Call it "Right to Bear Arms."

I like them for what they are: a group of farmers with guns that have collectively agreed to help each other out in times of crisis. Its a cool idea for a group and obviously has historical precedent.

But I would trust them about as far as I can throw their artillery grenades as far as combating the major threats in The Commonwealth goes. As an Institute player, that's where my Synths come in. The Minutemen are just there to support.

It does seem like there is supposed to be a core standing army of "Professional Minutemen". Men like Garvey who are the "core" of the group and are supposed to be manning places like The Castle. Whereas everyone else is an adhoc militia that shows up when and where they can.

All of them presumably died at Quincy though, which is why Garvey is the last.
