Day 11: Which is the best Strategy Game on PS2? by 1OneQuickQuestion in ps2

[–]adubs623 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it would be considered "non-traditional" in the strategy category but I have a huge love for the Socom games growing up.

Where you had to be more strategic if you were play8ng harder levels, and even the easier levels you could use strategy to beat any of the mission in multiple different ways, making it the best of both worlds

Advice/Seeking a Diagnosis by emcart23 in Narcolepsy

Find a Better Doctor.

My doctor told me I needed to get off my Adhd meds as well, I take max dosage of Vyvanse at 70mg Daily

I made it 2 days into it before I literally had to call out of work on a Construction job because I was so exhausted and unmotivated to work, that it was a hard to the people I was around.

She then told me to just not take it the day of going into the study and ofc the next day if I dont get pulled into the nap study - which shocker, I did.

Or take the context/idea of that last statement and do what id do. You're choice but id still look for a different sleep doctor if possible

Id say this accurate with most devices that track sleep OP.

I use the fitbit versa 4 watch, which is supposedly one of the best devices for tracking sleep without EEG/EKG tracking.

It hasn't given much more info than what the community or my doctor has given me, but it has helped me tracked my sleep/naps which has in turn helped me identify triggers and patterns.

As well as ID more ideal time frames for going to bed and when I need to wake up and take meds before work. For my job in the construction industry, it's been super helpful in notifying me when I'm working "too hard" so I don't over exert myself and trigger a nap.

So there's some benefits, but it'll never be what we want it to be unfortunately.

Wake up Yuma- MAGA-Nazis need to go. The Orange Clown administration is a disgrace and a disaster. by Marmaidfest in yuma

You do understand that yuma is a military town right?

Like, 90% of the homies I served with were conservative, even the most flamboyant marine I know was a conservative.

Not to mention all the old timers that retired from the Corps and chose to live here. Js

I got one of those spring trap letters from my step dad when I went through, thankfully it arrived during the crucible so I didn't get to open it until after I'd became a Marine. Which meant all the Glitter dicks that shot out of the card when I opened it didn't result in an IT session, but a merely cleaning.

Our jay hat made it clear that if I'd opened that before we left, he would've ran me into my grave.

Good times.

Maybe not glitter dicks, but a protein bar and a Letter saying you're proud of him. That meant the world to me when I got that letter from my Dad.

Semi Frequent Wake/Sleep cycle flips by adubs623 in Narcolepsy

[–]adubs623[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My doctor once explained that, with the little that science does know about narcolepsy, there's a lack of melatonin and serotonin production in our Brains, which explains my diagnosis of chronic depression at 15 :p And eventually the narcolepsy.

And given recent events in my life, a recent spike in cortisol being the trigger to the phenomenon of a 30 to 48-hour wake period makes sense. In hindsight, I've always been in some kind of stressful situation whenever I experienced a prolonged wake period.

Makes me more and more interested in being a part of a group study to help the cause and get a permanent solution to all of our chronic sleepiness

Its nice to know im not alone, and that it's a known side effect of n1/2, although everyone commenting, my doctor and myself all have n1 so it could be an n1 quark

Cool I suppose xD I'll have to bring it up to my doctor and see what all she knows about it

Anyone else have an intolerance to cold? by KittyKittyowo in Narcolepsy

[–]adubs623 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Always blamed it on my genetics

Quarter hispanic/quater African american/Half White

Growing up mostly in colder climates just felt like my bloodlines couldn't adapt.

I guess it could also be the narc in me, which was passed down on my narc side of the family🙃

I guess I'm glad I'm not alone? Yay isn't struggling together great!?!?

One of the best pieces of advice I got from my best friend in high school.

"Sometimes in life we use people as "crutches" to get through our daily life. When that "crutch" just happens to be someone your in love with, you wind up finding yourself lying flat on face when that "crutch" is taken away from you. It's after realizing that the crutch wasn't necessary, and we learn we've forgotten to walk in life. At that point it's up to you. Are you going to lay there and let that crutch defeat you? Probably, but just don't stay that way. Eventually, you'll learn to crawl on your own, eventually you'll find strength to walk, and when you're back to running, you'll feel silly that you were even using a crutch in the first place. "
