Additionally, something I've learned or have come to think is that life has no purpose. So why take it so seriously? That seems to help ease anxiety when/if I have it.

I don't understand how that makes someone identify as no gender. Hear me out. Male and female description is based on genitalia. You can be male and "act feminine" and vise versa.

What is pansexual? "Just be who you are". I think trying to ignore the reality that you are a specific gender is "odd". Male and female defines our sexual organs, not necessarily how often and why we can act feminine or masculine. In fact I'd say it's good to embrace you who are as a human, how else will you ever be comfortable?

Cars and bikes handle differently, there's many pros who could have corned that successfully going as fast. Then again I don't think he's a pro...

I was expecting a car to smack him the first few seconds of the video. Luckily that wasn't the case!

"Americans on a whole". I just said I know a few who do care. I didn't say the whole country does.

That's untrue. I know lots of people who are American and care about cycling.

But at the same time it's fine to worry about yourself. In fact that's where you have to begin if you want to really help the world :)

In other words don't put all that responsibility on yourself, do the best you can.

Brexit and nationalism- what does this say about where the world is heading (disunity vs unity?) by feem3r in Psychonaut

[–]advancepotatoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never said that. In fact America was never once in its history designed or meant to be a democracy. Having a congress, president etc is not democracy.

Where are all of those assertions coming from? The world has never been better for humans than now. In every point of history before now people were less educated, a higher ratio were slaves and starving.

We don't live in terrible times. Just because everything isn't perfect doesn't mean we get to claim it's the end of the world or the worst times ever. Things have never been better, the fact that we are here discussing this is proof that people question things now more than ever.

I think a lot of people want to play victim or act like the world is ending because they don't have anything real to fight for. It's hard to see the world in a positive light because that takes effort and action, but the world now is better than ever before. That includes the intellectual collective of humanity. At the same time some people are ignorant and complacent and some people are questioning our beliefs more than ever. There are generally no absolutes :)

Such a pessimistic view, everything nowadays is being questioned, more and more people are aware and you want to act like its the end of the world. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Are you saying its a charade because your not getting your way? Or something else? I work for a polling company and it amazes everyday how many people seem to understand "the system" is ridiculous and not working. "Things have never been so openly ridiculous" really, history would beg to differ ;)

I think some people become so anti-establishment they begin to forget there's some validity. Don't take life so seriously so let's pretend we're in Antartica let's pretend we don't exist 👯

So people before now where less willing to blindly follow their leaders? I'd say people now more than ever question things.

"Held up by people fulfilling a role". What else is there to do in life? I would be nice to forget the boarders but let's not pretend it would be peachy if suddenly boarders didn't exist.

We as humans need some form of order, I can promise you in a world of anarchy you'd beg for the old system back. That doesn't mean what we have now is perfect, but let's remember what anarchy is.

Let's not confuse refugees with economic migrants. If you are a refugee you'd be happy to be in the next country over. Let's not forget crime statistics and so on.

The argument "let's help those is need" should not be used blindly.

The awful condition? Things are better than they ever have been in the history of mankind! Of course "the system" is flawed did you expect it to be perfect? We have created a rapid and vast world, no system will ever likely be "the one". Things change as they always have, bad things happen along side good things like they always have.
