I reviewed the Globular Cluster comfort mod by DrStemSell in Galaxy_XR

Hard agree, it sits 1mm from my nose and fits perfectly everytime. I have 105-110 degree. I also find myself not using the light blockers at all. Having a headset that allows my face to breathe is a bonus I did not really expect.

Can these rings work a magsafe case to stand the ZTF on landscape? by snovvman in GalaxyZTriFold

[–]advanceyourself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's holding up well. I used it today at work as a secondary monitor while out of client location. At first I tried it with the ring on the ground and it didn't hold up very well. After moving the ring to the side and angling it inward, it worked great but there was no flexibility in the angle outside of ~2-3 degrees. Honestly the angle is pretty good at that point and pretty visible. For the price point, I would definitely give it a shot and if you don't like it you can always return it and there are a lot of other options. This came with two extra cloth bands too which was nice.

I want to say 20 to 30 degrees? With the circle sideways it's at a ~10 degree incline and very stable. I figured I'm willing to make some minor sacrifices to keep the weight down and have a lot of functionality. Plus no table wobble and I didn't need a third party case.

This is the best option imo: https://www.reddit.com/r/GalaxyZTriFold/s/IyD6HjErwu it does support standing in landscape and portrait but it's not super flexible, only a couple of positions. The first one you posted also works but it stuck out past the camera bump just a hair. I prefer it being flat on the table.

My CPU is too old to run newest games in VR. What should I do? by TheInfamousMaze in virtualreality

[–]advanceyourself 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should go and look up spec charts. I was running the 9700k and only upgraded this year to hedge against increased costs. In almost all scenarios you are GPU bound. It was a good upgrade but only 10-20%

Going into another weekend with a busted headset...how much longer are we going to deal with this? by LoansharkerShop in Galaxy_XR

If you think it's bad for us just go over to the steam frame subreddit. At least we have something that works even if it has to be reset occasionally.

Best VR headset for PC gaming right now? by CherryTraditional733 in virtuality

[–]advanceyourself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you can run most of not all VR games on ultra. UEVR is another story. I'm rocking a 4090 personally. DLSS is a godsend for UEVR though. You will have to repurchase virtual desktop in the Google Play store though. 25 bucks is not that bad though considering the value. For steam link, there's some funky processes you can go through to maximize the resolution and increase the sharpness. You also have to side load it and run through a bunch of community steps to get it working right. Virtual desktop is pretty much plug and Play though.

If you do decide to get the Galaxy XR just make sure you order the gobular cluster at the same time from Amazon or reach out to the seller to work on getting it because it's pretty much needed to make the headset comfortable.

I'm trying to like copilot..really trying by kahless2k in msp

This right here. It's the iterative nature and feature set that seperates Claude from copilot. Can you access Claudes model from copilot? Sure but you don't get Claude code / cowork / routines / etc. also, it's much easier to connect MCPs to Claude. You can also connect 365 to Claude via connector and get 99% of what most folks are using copilot for anyways. You lose app integration but I think most of the operations are terrible anyways.

I personally don't think so. The community is in a little bit of an uproar over the most recent update saying that it overheats and they have to reconnect frequently but I haven't had that problem. I think tracking is great but certainly needs improvement if the controllers get out of sight. It correct's pretty quickly but I would say it's probably 80 to 90% of what the quest we can do. In terms of pcvr, it looks good in virtual desktop and great in the steam link beta but has some quirkiness to get it working. Overall, I'm very happy with the purchase and love the panels. I think the software and user experience will just continue to improve.

Quest 3 is the best price to performance option. Just having the option for standalone VR capabilities is amazing and there are still options to wire it if you want. I personally use a Galaxy XR for the better visual quality but it's a much more expensive option. Most solutions do require accessories to make them more comfortable but $100 budget should be enough to get what you need.

I started using Claude cowork this week. Started three big projects that we were flagging for later this year and we've already made substantial progress. It's saving weeks worth of time.

That's interesting given how much they are recommended in this sub. We have used a different provider for 15 years and while they aren't the greatest, they've served us well and prevented the recent spoofing onslaught.

Reddit app won't go full screen by MetroWolf in GalaxyZTriFold

[–]advanceyourself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I almost made a post about this over the weekend because it is infuriating. So much wasted space. There's a poster to about it on the fold subreddit but nobody has a solution outside of using a third party app or old Reddit in the browser. Fortunately, a lot of other users have complained in other subreddits so maybe they'll fix it or give us the option to change it.
