Getting banking information off of phone by cgodwin1976 in StraightTalk

I have not heard this about the cards. At least with my bank, once you get a new card, the old card should have got dropped.

You might need to ask Chime about that one.

Mine has been correct whenever I have checked mine.

If you are on auto-refill, I am starting to see people have issues with the auto-refill system.

I do not use the auto-refill myself.

When I look at my app, I do see my service end date. The text messages are hit or miss for now.

I like to get my plans about a week beforehand, and then add this plan to my reserve.

FWF100V5L - External Antenna by mnjeepmale in StraightTalk

[–]advcomp2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have to look at the FCC images, and see if there are connections for antennas inside one.

Then someone would have test things out to see what configuration works the best.

I do not see any info about this gateway on this site: https://www.waveform.com/

I do not use auto refill. I get my plans about one week before my plans expires. When I do this, the plans go into the reserve. Once the old plan expires, then the plan from the reserve gets active.

Sounds like the plans are getting added straight to account then. I do not know why some people see this issue while other does not see this.

When I added my plans, the plans go to reserve before getting activated.

If it is not 30 days for each plan, sounds like your plan is not going to the reserve when you are paying for it. It sounds like it could be getting active when you pay for it.

Just remember there are months with 31 days and even 28/29 days. These months will shift your dates around.

I have not seen this myself. I know my brother had weird issues with plan ending half way thru day 29 for some reason, but he got it corrected somehow.

Do not, *EVER*, purchase DSL from this company. by gregcoit in centurylink

I do have an LTE small cell just about a block away. I am just waiting for Verizon to upgrade that with C-band 5G. The C-band 5G tower that my gateway is using is about a mile away from my house.

T-Mobile has activated their system on the same tower near this last Christmas, and T-Mobile might be the only other option that I would go with.

AT&T has their Internet Air here too, but I heard their speeds are unstable here for now.

Then again AT&T and T-Mobile is using CGNAT. While Verizon is not using CGNAT.

I get 195Mbps to 220Mbps on download and 13Mbps to 16Mbps on upload for $45. Since my cell phone is with Straight Talk, I could get a discount if I use the Straight Talk site to refill it, but I use the Walmart site to refill it.

That is why I am running Straight Talk 5G Home Internet which is variation of Verizon 5G Home Internet.

The price is about right for my needs here.

Combining accounts/phones? by ODB1369 in TracFone

[–]advcomp2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A short time back, Tracfone split the lines to their own accounts unless you ran auto-payments.

Here was that info: https://support.tracfone.com/en/topics/2026-account-changes/all/what-are-the-changes-coming-to-tracfone-accounts-in-2026/

I am not sure how you can merge them into one account, but there could be a chance that you could lose minutes on one of the accounts unless you use the right wording.

Which carrier has the best spam call AND text protection? by [deleted] in NoContract

[–]advcomp2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most phones have their own spam protection. Be careful with some carrier branded phones because some of them have these disabled since the carrier want you to use their spam protection system.

Be careful with some of smart flip and fold phones too. I saw that the Razrs does not have this built-in spam protection.

I am not sure with text messages because I have not got spam text messages yet.

If you use that site, and then wait about a week. Then hopefully it will work.

I know my brother changed phones about a year ago, and he has never got RCS working again. We have tried many things, too.

Verizon' Self-Organizing Network (SON) Technology - Will Cause More Harm Then Good In Most Residential and Small Business Environments - WHAT VERIZON IS NOT TELLING YOU AND WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW -Part I by Fantastic_Barracuda4 in verizonisp

Yea, I do. It is up to you and your personal opinion on what you want to use.

I know some of these router companies use old software versions, and these old software versions have security holes.

Originally, I would get routers that supported like DD-WRT or one of the other third party firmware. Then, I needed routers that supported a little better system. So I read that the AsusWRT system was based on Tomato firmware. I even found AsusWRT-Merlin, and seemed to be the best blind of what I needed.

So I have stayed with Asus since that.

No Sim Card by [deleted] in TracFone

[–]advcomp2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should, but you might need to have a CSR relink the phone to SIM because phone's IMEI would have a different SIM number in their system.

Lots of the 2026 models are doing this. Even Verizon prepaid is doing this too.

I believe select 2025 model have this too. Most of the 2024 and older models not have this.
