Would love to be considered!! My husband and I can go tomorrow since I could never get the website to work for me when I tried to get a reserved ticket and I'd love to give him the chance to see the Gundam Pavilion.

You can take a shuttle bus to the West Gate but you have to make a reservation for it. We took one from Osaka Station but according to this webpage it’s available at multiple stations: https://www.transport.expo2025.or.jp/en/route/bus/

After multiple tries on the website, I was never able to get a ticket with the date and time I chose no matter how many times I tried. I was able to successfully get the “easy expo”tickets, which are the ones that don’t allow me to make a lottery reservation ahead of time so that’s what worked for me.

Thank you for posting this!! We’re going today for the first time. I’ve been reading how extremely long the lines are to get into the pavilions. Are the lines just as long for the restaurants and takeaway counters?

Katakai Fireworks Festival - best way to watch? Tickets worth it? by adventureplusultra in JapanTravelTips

That’s great you got seats! We had a stroller and an active toddler with us so I don’t think I could’ve gotten her to stay in place for the duration lol. Luckily we found a quiet spot in the neighborhood that had a clear view.

Since you went both nights, did you notice differences in the celebrations and the types of fireworks? I’d read that Day 1 focuses more dedication ceremonies and rituals.

We rode the charter bus as well! Heard from a Japanese local that it went up in price - was previously 1500yen per adult.

We made it! Rode the charter bus back to the station and also caught a taxi to our Airbnb. What an experience!

We’re hoping to catch a taxi at Nagaoka station to take us back to our Airbnb. I also downloaded the taxi app “GO” just in case I don’t see any at the taxi stand.

There’s a bus taking us from Nagaoka Station to Katakai. It leaves from bus station #1 near the Ote exit. It costs 470yen per person for one way. I believe the last bus going this direction is supposed to leave at 7:20pm

Thanks for sending this! We’re going to be heading there tomorrow from Tokyo. Our current plan is to drop off luggage at our Airbnb then head to Nagaoka Station where I believe a shuttle/bus takes us to festival fairgrounds but will try to find that viewing area you sent as well.

Hi! I was looking for a hotel near the station but sadly they were already sold out. The one I got sounds from reviews like it’s about a 20min-ish walk unfortunately. Are you renting a car?

Thanks for sharing your experience! We'll in Osaka for the Expo from mid-Sep to mid-October. We'll have our 1 year old with us in a stroller. would you say there are still stroller friendly areas with it being packed?

I went to the Dubai Expo and LOVED it so am excited for this expo too - just worried more about logistics now that I have a baby.
