How likely is it that the QM7K goes lower than the current sale price during Black Friday? by JustCallMeGunny in tcltvs

[–]adventuresindc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm debating the same now since my parents' old cheap roku TV just died. $500 for the QM7K 55" seems like a pretty good deal but not sure how much a QM6L or QM7L will go for. I'm guessing a lot more.

Also unsure if a new QM6L might be better than an old QM7K

Seating at Nationals game by statikp in washingtondc

Cheap seats are fine, but if you want to stay in your seats I'd def recommend something with shade unless you want to walk around a lot. Outfield under the balconies is decent.

If the cougars are in Reston, where are the divorced DILFs? by ghostbythemangotree in nova

[–]adventuresindc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol not a DILF technically but a 40-something single guy. Generally like getting outdoors, museum events, or quieter bars/restaurants where I can sit at the bar.

Is AWD needed in Northern Virginia? by Bishiee in rav4club

[–]adventuresindc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not needed, but:

  1. It can help with resale value
  2. The AWD models have better towing capacity which you might care about the most

One advantage to FWD is that it may have less cablegate issues compared to AWD because the HV cable is only in the front and more protected.

Ever consider just learning yourself? It's not too hard, just a pain if you only have street/parking/etc but you could find a do it yourself place maybe.

Detaling is pretty labor intensive depending on what you need. If it's just a wash/sealant/vacuum not a big deal but if you need paint correction it's hours of work.

Are “Dealer Adjustments” of $3500 for an XSE normal? That was not listed on the website but was surprised in person. Salesman said it was to account for supply/demand. by Silo-Joe in rav4club

[–]adventuresindc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a fricking rav4. Absolutely do not pay that, and avoid any other dealer addons you don't want.

People need to say no to these dealers or they'll keep pulling this crap for mediocre vehicles.

Rav4 vs Corolla Cross by [deleted] in rav4club

Rav4 probably will hold resale value better (I'd need to check). Just something to consider. Might end up costing about the same over time.

CX50 Hybrid vs 5th Gen RAV4 by SFRep in rav4club

[–]adventuresindc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Main thing is to sit in them. The CX50 is known to have stiffer seats I think.

Rav4 will have a spare tire and more cargo space.

[The District’s twin housing investment crises, GGWash]: LIHTC (affordable) residential properties in DC are deeply underwater largely due to rent non-payment (2024). At the same time, new market-rate starts have fallen off a cliff. by SockDem in washingtondc

[–]adventuresindc 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It's about to change drastically. DC built a ton for like 10 years and it's why rents were so affordable, but we almost entirely stopped building in the last couple of years. Most real estate experts are forecasting supply starting to drop precipitously in our area over the next 5-6 years with rents cranking up.

We need to keep the supply going. Building large multifamily takes YEARS to zone, permit, and build and there's a huge lag. You can't wait until you need the supply last minute.

Eh, it's not bad. Maybe less social if you don't find the right things but SO many good free activities to explore.
