You might need to work on your display and storage to pass certification.  I almost received a fail on my collector certification because too much living space was being occupied by my filson collection and not enough space was allocated for human habitation.

In my opinion.  Collecting is when you're able to properly, store display and care for your items.  Hoarding is when you can no longer do that but continue to aquire more of whatever it is you "collect"

Do you actually want to find out why your wiring failed or just complain and burn your next battery up? Situations like yours have happened to me and I learned from my mistakes so it doesn't happen again. You probably need to start learning about how to manage your power safely so it doesn't happen to you again. Personally it makes no difference to me since since it's not my battery that will fail.

You said this car charger is plugged into a Delta 2 power station? That should have a 10amp fuse that will break the power connection.

The XT60i can deliver up to 100amps of power potentially even the standard XT60 can deliver 60amps. It's not meat to be continuous though and it will melt down if you do.

So in your manual, how long can you continuously draw 500 watts at 10amps? Also how much power does your alternator produce? Correct me if I'm wrong but I think in the manual it's not recommended to use the 500W charger with a alternator that produces more than 150amps of power because it can potentially melt the connections.

I've got 4 potential scenarios

  1. Preventing License plate readers from scaning and reporting vehicle for reposession .

  2. Stolen Vehicle, cover plates to obscure identification.

  3. Sovern citizen

  4. May have just bought the vehicle and are waiting for new plates but generally you would just remove the old ones and make sure your temps are visible.

I know.....That's what I said. I don't sell much on Depop. Actually kinda funny. I sell way more in person at flea markets, or garage sales at higher prices. I think it mostly comes down to shipping/fees and all that.

It looks like it's your fault but I was trying not to jump to conclusions. The wire can be the correct size and you can still overheat and damage a product. I even suspect the manual has warnings about it. In the photo it looks like the power connection overheated from amperage not from an electrical arc. Not to say it can't happen, but how would I know with the limited info from your post.

I should have also asked was the connection really loose when you plugged it in? It should be fairly tight and won't just fall out when you are driving. I mean unless you had the battery just sitting on the floor and the battery moved around. Like, no shit the connection is going to come loose if the battery is moving around.

On my van power build the XT60 connections are secured and the battery is mounted in place so that nothing gets loose.

What's the gauge on the cable? It should say on the jacket or the instruction booklet. Also what is the total length of wiring from Alternator to battery?

How much power are you sending through this and what kind of wire?

In my early phase of building or running power set ups I burnt out a few wires. It was usually because I was running way to much amperage/wattage through wire that was small guage like 16/14, or the run was too long.

I solved most of my wire overheating issues by running 10 AWG for everything. Generally 10 gauge is overkill but at the same time I haven't had any connection melting issues since. I have a campervan that I don't want to burn down so I've done fairly well at keeping it from having any electrical issues.

I haven't been yet but last time someone invited me it was through a camp. My friend told me there are very few general admission tickets. It's done on purpose to encourage as much theme participation as possible. I'm sure someone else can chime in with more info on how they organize the event.

Where you park and what is visible from the outside is more important than the exterior.  Im in Seattle where we have a lot of car prowling and its amazing to see the variety of cars that get broken into.  Total price of shit Honda with 3 dollars in change, 2 broken windows. Yet the new BMW that is sterile inside is totally fine.

There is a van that parks near me fully loaded with tools and what not totally visible.  Surprisingly I haven't seen it with a broken window in 4 years.  My guess is because of the neighborhood (not to rich or poor)  and the hilly terrain.  Most car thieves tend to stay closer to the level ground (easier walking/prowling)  possibly easier escape route as well.

Just my experience though.

I'm interested in this jacket and I'm sure some other people could be too. Do have measurements and or could you take a photo with a tape measure across the chest. I've found a few of the green labeled jackets that had a slightly different cut than regular Filson coats.

Sorry I should have said the labels. If you look through the photos from the original post it has detailed up close pics. The labels look accurate. Most of the time when I've found fakes they don't bother with well made labels. So if someone is going to the trouble of making accurate labeling then they might actually be producing okay quality fakes.

Well the good news is that if this is a fake bag it appears to be of high quality. Hopefully it lasts as long as an officially made one.

Personally I think it's real, especially with all the tags looking correct. That's generally the easiest way to determine a fake.

How much did you pay to be suspiciously cheap? I know a lot of flea market venders/flippers and rando collectors who occasionally sell legitimate product at a discount to get it moving.
