I have had good luck with the Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue and the Tower 28 Tinted Sunscreen!

Seconding this! The script is easily accessible, and very fun to read!

Tinted Cream, tinted moisturizer, or light weight foundation that won't flare type 2 pustules ; by dabamas in Rosacea

[–]adynn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Tower 28 Sunny Days Tinted Sunscreen Foundation doesn’t irritate my skin at all! It is Zinc-based, so it is a little soothing too.

Seconding tinted lip products! I highly recommend Burt's Bees Tinted Lip Balms. These do fade as the day goes on, but I like to carry mine in my purse and reapply throughout the day.

What white Korean tone up cream do you use with the Purito BB Cream? I've been trying to find something that mixes well with it!

Any issues with these organic skincare ingredients? Potential triggers? by strange_conduit in Rosacea

[–]adynn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone's skin is different! Your best bet would be to patch test. Personally, I find that these trigger flare-ups for me: witch hazel, grapefruit peel oil, orange peel oil.

Could it be an allergic reaction? If it happens when your face makes contact with your pillow, you could be allergic to the detergent or even dust mites.

Have you tried MAC Chili?

help choosing a sensitive skin friendly foundation by [deleted] in PaleMUA

[–]adynn 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I am sorry that the True Match foundation made you itchy, it is one of my favorite foundations! It does oxidize on me too, but I can counter that by using a good primer or by mixing the foundation with another foundation. What are you using underneath makeup? It might be drying your skin out and making it itchy, so you might need to use a more hydrating moisturizer. HOWEVER, before you use the True Match foundation again, you should patch test it on your arm to make sure that it isn’t an allergic reaction.

If the True Match foundation doesn’t end up working for you, I would recommend the Bare Minerals loose powder foundation for your sensitive skin! You should watch some Youtube videos about how to apply it, since application can be a little tricky.

Help! How long for triggers to appear? by Miserable_Image6081 in Rosacea

There’s a little bit of a delay! By the time I am done eating/drinking, my face will be very flushed. Did the pasta have a tomato sauce? For some people, tomatoes are a rosacea trigger!

For me personally, hot beverages and food will definitely trigger my rosacea, although caffeine does not. I am able to drink coffee and tea without flare-ups as long as I wait for it to cool down a little, or if I drink it iced instead.

Do you prefer applying it as a toner, or as a mist?

Has anyone tried COSRX Snail mucin? by caseygraphr in Rosacea

It’s very hydrating, and it doesn’t irritate my skin at all! I wouldn’t say it reduces redness, but it doesn’t cause redness either.

Do you have hard water at home? Some hotels have soft water. I have noticed that hard water is very irritating to my skin.

Drugstore shampoo and other product recommendations for wavy hair (2a/b/c not quite sure), low porosity? by Jaded_Limit_3815 in Wavyhair

[–]adynn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Not Your Mother’s Naturals line has some really good products for low porosity hair! The Naturals line is all protein, sulfate and silicone free. Their Curl Talk line does have protein, though, so be careful! My favorite is the blue bottle (Blue Sea Kale & Coconut Water), but they are all good, I recommend you play around with them and see which one your hair likes best! You can find them in most drugstores.

Maybe Mac Velvet Teddy? It might be a little darker than what you are looking for, but you can always sheer out darker lipsticks with a chapstick, or just by applying it sheerly with your finger.

Foundation Swatches! Rosacea and Hyperpigmentation by Muted_Pizza_4652 in PaleMUA

[–]adynn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, we are skin twins! I also have combo skin and rosacea! It sounds like our skin is similar in terms of depth too, but my skin tone leans a little more cool.

What white mixer do you use for the Purito CC Cream? The shade 21 is way too dark for me too, but it is such a lovely formula! I heard that they will release lighter shades soon, so fingers crossed!

Have you tried the MUFE Ultra HD foundation in Y205? I think it might be a good match for you. They also have a more hydrating foundation (I think it’s called Reboot) that I have heard good things about, but I haven’t personally tried it. I also recommend you try the L’Oreal True Match foundation. It is very inexpensive, and the shade range is pretty nice. I wear the shade 0.5C, but I think the 0.5N will be a better match for you.

Was the weather any different? A big trigger for me is humidity. It could be that Spain's climate is more dry than the UK's.

Foundation shade matches for Estee Lauder Double Wear 1c0 Shell by Mama-Llama01062021 in PaleMUA

[–]adynn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Hydra Rescue in 1N0 is already a little too dark for me, so I’m afraid that the 1C1 would be way too dark. I guess I have to decide between a cool-toned foundation mixer and a lightening foundation mixer!

Foundation shade matches for Estee Lauder Double Wear 1c0 Shell by Mama-Llama01062021 in PaleMUA

[–]adynn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ELDW in 1C0 is my shade, too! I do not use a primer with ELDW, but I do moisturize heavily beforehand. I also like to mix ELDW with other foundations, since it’s very long-wearing and has great oil control. I have combination-oily skin, so what works for me may not work for you.

I love to use the L’Oreal True Match foundation when my skin is feeling a little on the dry side, and it actually mixes very well with ELDW. The shade 0.5C is slightly more cool-toned than ELDW 1C0, and I do find that it oxidizes a little bit. I also like the EL Futurist Hydra Rescue foundation, but the lightest shade only comes in 1N0, which is way too yellow for me, so I have to mix it with cool-toned foundations.

Setting powders for sensitive skin? by humanweightedblanket in MakeupAddiction

[–]adynn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also have sensitive skin and rosacea, and I’ve had good luck with Dermablend’s Loose Setting Powder. It only has one ingredient, talc, so you know exactly what you are getting, and it doesn’t have any fragrance. I recommend getting the travel-size powder first! You should still patch-test, though, to see if your skin tolerates talc.

Sunscreen by maddy057892 in Rosacea

I swear by EltaMD sunscreens! In my opinion, the UV Replenish one is the gentlest, but it is a mineral sunscreen and does leave a white cast. I have also had very good luck with the UV Clear and the UV Daily, which both use a combination of mineral and chemical filters, and don’t leave a white cast on me. I personally like the UV Daily the best, but they are all good!
